http://www.beautyhigh.com/hair/10824/how-get-messy-chignon The best hairstyles are the kind that 1.) you don't need to wash your hair in order to do, and 2.) can be achieved in a matter of minutes. Which is why we're loving the fact that low chignons are trendy, and not only have that effortlessly chic look and feel - but actually are almost effortless. Matt Fugate of Sally Hershberger Salon stopped by our studios to show us how quick and easy a messy chignon was to achieve. Watch the video for his tips and keep this hairstyle on hand for any of those mornings when you hit the snooze button just a few too many times. Step 1: Sweep all of your hair to the side of your head and secure with elastic. Step 2: Lightly backcomb your hair for body. Step 3: Twist the hair back around your elastic. Step 4: Secure with pins.

As the temperature starts to drop and we begin transitioning into fall, we've begun to think about shiny, freshly blown out hair. That being said, we've partnered up with the hair styling experts at Frederic Fekkai along with their new blowout collection, to bring you Blow by Blow—a video series telling you how to get your favorite blowout hairstyles. To begin our blowout series, we wanted to concentrate on big, voluminous hair – we're talking bouncy, shiny, sexy, hair. With a few key steps from hair expert Amanda Daly, you can learn how to transform your limp locks into bombshell waves. Check out the video above or read below to find out what steps to take and products to use to get your voluminous blow out look. Step 1: Spray Fekkai Blowout Primer all over damp hair to protect the hair from the heat and to help improve drying time and frizz. Step 2: Then, apply a pea size amount of Fekkai Blowout Texturizer, emulsify it in your hands and start applying from the crown of your head, through the roots, and through the ends for maximum volume and texture. Step 3: Pre-dry your hair focusing on the roots, lifting the roots from the scalp (this is why flipping your head over helps!). Daly emphasized this step as very important, "The more you can pre-dry the better. Brushing your hair pulls out natural volume, so pre-drying keeps that to a minimum." Step 4: Smooth out with a brush as you finish drying. Step 5: While hair is still warm, take big sections into velcro rollers and let cool. This is a good time to do your makeup, while your hair is out of your face. Step 6: Take the rollers out and shake your hair out. For added texture, you can apply Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo and for hold, use Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray. Have a hard time with the sticky stuff? Expert Daly says, "When applying hairspray, don't go just around the top of your head, go from underneath because it helps build the texture and volume. Flip your head over and start from there." And there you have it, a perfect voluminous blowout ready for any occasion!

Sleek, straight, run your fingers through it kind of hair is something women try to achieve day after day, yet we still somehow manage to fall just short. Next up in our blowout series, we wanted to concentrate on how to get this perfectly sleek, straight hair. Read on or watch the video above to learn the tips and tricks for smooth, beautiful hair from hair expert Amanda Daly. Step 1: To protect your hair from heat damage and improve drying time, spray Fekkai Blowout Primer all over damp hair. Step 2: Pre-dry your hair starting at the roots. Keep the blow dryer above your hair to control frizz and reduce volume. For curly or wavy hair, use the Blowout Sealing Serum to aid in the straightening process. Step 3: To finish up the drying process, smooth out your locks with a round brush or flat brush (whichever you prefer). Step 4: To tame frizz and flyaways, apply the lightweight Fekkai Blowout Sealing Serum – rub between palms and then press onto ends. For an even sleeker look, take a flat iron to the top layer of hair, on the ends. Step 5: Use Fekkai's Blowout Hair Refresher on Day 2 (and beyond) to extend the life of your blowout. Apply concentrating on the roots. And there you have it, a sleek, long-lasting blowout look that will be sure to have heads turning.

We all lust after those waves that seem to be perfectly tousled and have that “I woke up like this” flair. That's why last up in our blowout series, we wanted to play around with a fun, tousled look. Hair expert Amanda Daly spills on the tips and products to help you achieve this effortless "bedhead" look in the video above and with her steps below. Step 1: To prep your hair, use Fekkai's Blowout Primer, which will protect your gorgeous locks from the heat. Also, apply a touch of Fekkai's Blowout Texturizer concentrating at the root to create volume with movement. Step 2: To add texture to your hair, use a diffuser on the blow dryer while also scrunching with your hands. To control frizz, apply Fekkai’s Blowout Sealing Serum to your ends for polish and added protection. Step 3: With a large barrel curling iron, 1" to 1.5", take random large pieces and add soft bends to the mid-shaft area. Daly reminds us that, "You can experiment and alternate which way you bend the iron, to make a more natural wave." Step 4: To finish off this look, separate your strands with fingers. Since this look is very 'effortless,' Daly emphasizes that, "Less is always more with this look. When you want a tousled look, don't be so concerned with a perfect part, go natural." For more texture and to extend your tousled blowout Day 2 (and beyond), try the Fekkai Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo applying at the roots and on the crown of the head for “lived-in” style. There you have it! All the steps to achieve that effortless "rolled out of bed" tousled look.
