TV/TV Episode 7 - Toronto Vintage Bicycle Show
We kick off the 2nd season of Toronto Vintage Television by trading in the pasties for pedals at the Toronto Vintage Bicycle Show which took place at Trinity Bellwoods Park on July 27th. It was a super sunny Sunday afternoon in the park with the Community Bicycle Network showcasing classic vintage bikes and enthusiasts from all over the city and beyond.

Ohana, Luau at the Lake (The Movie) Teaser

TV/TV Episode 11 (Road Trip) - Ohana Luau at the Lake (The Movie)
In this, our first "Road Trip" episode, we visit Lake George Village in New York state (just a few hours drive south-east of Toronto) and check in at the Tiki Resort, site of the Fraternal Order of Moai's annual event "Ohana Luau at the Lake". We've captured all of the fun, rum and shenanigans at this retro Polynesian pop festival featuring the top bands, artists, cocktails, entertainment, room parties, food and friendship of the premiere TIKI event. We love Ohana, Luau at the Lake so much that we're headed back to attend for our fourth straight year this June to catch up with all of the awesome friends we've made there from all accross America. Last year (2014) we took our cameras and turned them on the fine folks of Ohana. We know you will love the results. The next best thing to being there!!

In Episode 4 of Toronto Vintage Television, we catch up with Freda Rama at the Canadian Pinup Show at the Revival Bar in Toronto with head "mistress" of The Toronto School of Burlesque, Red Herring, Bettina May, and other top Canadian Burlesque performers at the Burlesque Show. The following day, we catch up with the lovely ladies and a group of photographers at the Toronto Pinup Safari as they make their way through various locations throughout Kensington Market.

The Summer of 2014 was Tiki-riffic in Toronto with plenty of Polynesian pop-inspired parties to keep Toronto Tikiphiles on mai-tai hangovers all summer long. Freda Rama and I brought our camera out to three of those parties and caught up to chat with some Toronto Tiki heads along with some surfy rock n' roll and exotic performers. First up is the "Tiki Sea", a pop-up Tiki Bar transforming the Bento Miso Collaborative Workspace in downtown Toronto into a dimly-lit tropical paradise for one night. Second, we stumble into the the Bovine Club's monthly awesomely sleaze-tastic showcase, "Pussy Whipped Wednesdays" for their "Tiki Patio Party" under the stars (on a work night, no less!). Finally, our Toronto Tiki tour rounded off at the Cadillac Lounge in the downtown's west side for "Tiki Lani Lanai", an annual Tiki extravaganza produced by the Toronto Vintage Society. So, pour yourself a tall cool one of your favorite libation, curl up in your bamboo easy chair, sit back and enjoy the show.... The first episode of "Toronto Vintage Television" is finally live and online. With this video podcast we'll take you to many vintage and retro inspired events and places in and around Toronto and beyond. We'll feature the fabulous people, businesses and events that make Toronto unequaled in the Vintage universe. In Episode 1, we attend the "9th Annual Great Lakes Surf Battle" at the Cadillac Lounge and rock out to some reverbalicious, twangtacular surf bands competing for the prestigious TIKI CUP. TV/TV Episode 6 - "The Lovely Seven" : A Vintage Burlesque Art Show
After a short summer break, Toronto Vintage Television is back with our Season One finale. In Episode 6 we visit an art show gala opening melding today's state-of-the-art digital drawing technique with a vintage subject matter. Artist and educator, Stephanie Davidson, has created an illustrated portraiture series featuring vintage Burlesque performers. Burlesque Performers, Knox Harter and Tiny B. Hiney perform as well as the vocal styling of cabaret singer Sedina Fiati.
TV/TV Episode 3 - Trailer Park Pic-Nic
In Episode 3, Freda Rama "hoes-down" at Doll Factory by Damzels' annual Pic-Nic. This year, they've transformed their back lot on Queen Street East into a trashy Trailer Park, complete with rowdy rockabilly bands, some mullet inspired burlesque, a chicken toss and much more. Our trailer park queen also gets a corn chip culinary lesson along with a campy cocktail recipe involving Sailor Jerry Rum and snow cones.

In this full-length and virtually uncut episode, we sit in and capture an intimate panel discussion featuring the legendary Swing and Lindy Hop icon Dawn Hampton, along with Chazz Young, and Sylvia Sykes. Also included is a Q&A session with the panel, some impromptu dancing and a few other surprises.

Join Freda Rama, and a bevy of Toronto Vintage Society beauties for a peek at the festivities held at Toronto City Hall for it's 50th Anniversary Celebration. The iconic building was designed by Finnish architect Viljo Revell, opened in 1965 and is home to the municipal government of Toronto. It is also one of the country's most distinct landmarks.

The Monk Junkies perform and Freda catches up with the multi-talented Big Rude Jake and gets the full scoop from one of the Damzels herself, Kelly Freeman. Prepare for some finger-snapping, caffeine charged Beatnik Jazz when you press play on this one. Stay tuned for Episode 3 when we hoe on down to Damzels east-side location for a hillbilly, back-lot, "Trailer Park PIc-Nic".
