Texas Long-Nosed Snake (Rhinocheilus lecontei tessellatus) 2016
This is a Texas Long-Nosed Snake that I caught while working the oil fields east of Midland, Texas. These shy non-venomous reptiles live in mostly sandy areas and their primary food are lizards and toads.

Various South American Fish, Turtles, and Manatees in Dallas Aquarium
Here is a display at the Dallas Aquarium that replicates the South American Rainforest. The pacu is a vegetarian relative to the piranha, the polka-dot stingray is the only freshwater stingray in the world and is declining. The arapaima, or pirarucu, is an air-breathing fish without gills that can reach 10 feet in length. The turtle is an arrau side-necked turtle. There were also catfish and manatees here.
