Heavenly Father, my day is drawing to an end, and I'm ready to turn in. But before I do, I have to thank you for your faithfulness today. It's always a good day, even when things may not go the way I plan, or when the world seems in chaos, because you are in control. For all the times when I was aware of your help today, all the times when your unseen presence seemed so near, thank you, God. But for all the ways you worked behind the scenes, unknown to me, moments when heaven-sent angels moved on my behalf in ways I'll never know, thank you for those also, Lord. Forgive me for any foolish actions on my part today or things I did without first asking your blessing or wisdom. Those are moments I'd rather forget, but I'm so grateful for your forgiveness when I ask. I never want to go to bed without clearing the air between us, Lord. Our friendship means too much, and your holiness deserves that. Thank you for loving me just as I am. Your love compels me to give you my all and fills my heart with praise for the relationship we share because of Jesus. As I close my eyes tonight, I'm praying for loved ones around me, for friends and those who need to know you, Lord. I'm praying that your love, like the billions of stars in the night sky outside, will touch them and help them see who you really are. I pray for our world and those in it. I pray for their needs as well as my own. Grant me a good night's sleep tonight, God, so that I can awake refreshed and ready to begin another day loving you. Thank you again for blessings so undeserved and too numerous to count. I love being your child, and I long for the word "faithful" to describe my service to you, each day of every year. When I awake in the morning, may it be with a joyful smile, not a grumpy spirit. May your protection and your presence bathe this place with peace and safety against the enemy. Good night, Lord. In Jesus's name, I pray. Amen.

Good morning, Lord! Today's a new day, a chance for a new start. Yesterday is gone and with it any regrets, mistakes, or failures I may have experienced. It's a good day to be glad and give thanks, and I do, Lord. Thank you for today, a new opportunity to love, give, and be all that you want me to be. Today I want to start the day with you on my mind and in my heart. As I dress, let me wear the armor you've provided daily: the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the belt of truth, the shoes of peace, and the sword of the spirit with prayer on my tongue: praise for you and petitions for those around me and those I meet. Feed me today with your daily bread. As the Bread of Life, your food, like manna, will sustain me throughout any trials and hungers. Help me to set my thoughts on things above and to speak only what will help and encourage others. Keep me from putting my foot in my mouth, and help me guard the affections of my heart today, Lord. Make whatever work I do be marked with excellence rather than perfectionism, as I seek not to make a name, but to make a difference. Help me to treat each person I encounter as you would, with respect and love, forgiving others and asking for forgiveness myself when needed. As I start this day, help me remember that I belong to you, and my desire is to act accordingly. Keep my feet from stumbling and my mind from wandering into distractions that could steal precious time and energy from the most important things you have designed for me. I'm proud to be your child, Lord. And I'm so grateful that you died for me, rising again so that every day could be filled with the wonder of your love, the freedom of your Spirit, and the joy of knowing you. I know earthly life is short and fleeting, Lord. But I want to live today as if it were the first or the last day of my life, giving thanks for every good and perfect gift you choose to give. Today, and every day, I want to live my life for you, Jesus. In your precious name, I pray, Amen.

Grant that my body may conceive and give birth to a beautiful, healthy baby in Your Holy image. O God, you are the God of peace, and I am a worrier. Take away my worry and give me some of your peace. Help me not to waste my time worrying about things about which there is nothing to be done, but help me to accept them, and to make the best of them, and to overcome them. Help me not to worry about things which I myself can mend but to do something about them, even if it means a great effort, and even if it means that which is still more difficult, the confessing of my error and the humbling of my pride. Help me to put you first in every area of my life. Help me to live one day at a time. Help me to not worry about tomorrow but instead focus on what you’re doing in my life right now. I want to trust in your promise to take care of every one of my needs financial, relational, physical, social, spiritual, and emotional. Help me to trust you more and worry less. Loving Lord Jesus, thank You that You are a God Who hears and answers all our prayers, even those prayers, where an answer seems to be, a long time in coming. Thank You that You hear and respond to all Your children who come to you in humility of heart not relying on our own abilities or our own worth, but only on the merit and righteousness of our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Teach me Lord to be patient in my prayers and to learn to wait quietly and trustingly for Your perfect timing knowing that in all things You are teaching and training me to be more Christ-like in all my works and ways, including my praying. Teach me to pray according to Your perfect will and I pray that however long I need to wait I ask that You would teach me to be patient in my waiting and to trust Your word for all that You have promised no matter what may happens knowing that everything that we ask according to Your will, it shall be accomplished. Thank You Lord that I am Your child and that You are my Father, knowing that I have full access to Your throne of grace, when I come to You in weakness and humility of heart. Dear Heavenly Father, You tell us so many times in Your word to “Fear Not” and so often I find myself allowing my imagination to run wild, causing worry and anxiety to rise up in my heart, for fear of what is happening in my life and in the world today. Lord, I’m so anxious. I’m afraid of failure. I’m afraid of success. Fear of criticism overwhelms me. I’m afraid of being alone. Lord I know that You do not want us to allow fear to overtake us, but rather that we rest in Your love and allow Your peace to fill and flood our troubled hearts Bring my thoughts back to You, oh Mighty God. Be the centre of my life, my Rock, my Fortress and my Salvation. Help me not to stray as the sheep of this world but to focus my eyes and heart upon You. Cleanse my heart and my mind of any doubts of Your mighty power to set me free, to deliver me from evil. Be with me as I face these fears, guide me that I may go out in confidence, knowing that You are at my side. Thank You that You are my refuge and strength, my rock and high tower. Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for my precious children. Give me wisdom Lord as I seek in Your strength to raise them, to know the truth of Your word. Help me never to hold my children too tightly to myself or develop an attitude of parental selfishness but help me to equip them to become men and women of God who develop an attitude of responsibility, wisdom and faithfulness to YOU, as they develop and grow older and take up their own positions in the world. I pray You would continue nurturing their hearts and minds to be receptive to Your Word. Anoint them with wisdom and great insight so that they may discern between right and wrong. Place in my children a desire to pursue wisdom that can only come from above. Do not let them be wise in their own eyes but grow to fear You and shun evil. Lord I commit my children into YOUR keeping Lord. I love them so dearly, yet I know that Your love for each of my children far exceeds the love that I could have. Keep them I pray, under the shadow of Your protective wings. May The Holy Spirit lead them and guide them into all truth and may they grow in grace and mature in the faith of Christ Jesus. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus, AMEN.

Hosea redeems his unfaithful wife, paying the price for her freedom. Hosea 1 - 3 Hosea was a young prophet in the northern kingdom of Israel, which had been ruled by a succession of wicked kings. God wanted to show His people how unfaithful they had been but also how much He still loved them. So He asked Hosea to marry Gomer. Now Gomer was a very beautiful woman, but God warned Hosea that she would be unfaithful to him and end up living like as prostitute. However, God told Hosea to marry Gomer for it would be a lesson to show how people had become unfaithful to the God who loved them. Hosea married his beautiful bride. Gomer gave birth to three children. The eldest boy was called Jezreel (after the location where wicked King Ahab committed many murders and the evil Queen Jezebel died). Then they had a girl named Loruhamah, which means ‘not-pitied.’ It meant that God would no longer have pity on His people if they continued their stubborn rebellion. Gomer conceived again and bore a third child, another little boy. And this child God named Loammi, ‘not-my-people,’ for God was saying, ‘you are not my people and I will not be your God.’ Gomer was not a faithful wife to Hosea and went off to live with another man. – Hosea continued warning people of the judgment to come for God was going to send the Assyrians to make them slaves unless they turned back to Him. In the meantime, Gomer was passed on from one man to another. Hosea warned people to stop being unfaithful to God by worshiping false gods. He knew that God would need to punish them but there was hope. Israel would one day turn back to the God who loved her. Instead of ‘Not pitied,’ she would be called ‘Pitied’ and instead of ‘Not my people,’ she would be named ‘My people’ again. Gomer’s situation went from bad to worse. After going from man to man, she fell into the hands of a man who was unable to pay for her food and her clothing. Hosea heard about the miserable plight of his former wife. God told Hosea, ‘Although Gomer is loved by another man and is an adulteress, go and show your love to your wife again, Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods.’ Hosea gave the man Gomer was living with 15 shekels of silver and some barley (the price of a slave) to release his wife. Hosea told Gomer, ‘You are to live with me again. You must be a loyal wife and I will take care of you.’ In the same way if God’s people will humbly return to Him, He will bless them again. This Story tells us about God's infinite love for us. Though we are sinful, God still loves us. Through this story, God is asking us to repent for our sins and turn back to Him, If we humbly return to Him, He will Bless us Again.

Father, there are certain things that have recently happened to me that have been so painful that I am finding it quite difficult to forgive others, and yet I know that this is Your will for each one of Your children knowing that forgiving others in our hearts has a beautiful secondary function, of opening up our hearts and lives to Your warming love and perfect peace. Lord I want to forgive others, but there seems to be a sort of blockage that is causing me to hold fast to my anger and hurt. Please Father God, in Your goodness and grace, would You please help me to forgive fully, freely and forever so that I may be released from this sharp pain of unforgiveness, which seems to be holding my heart in an icy, iron grip. Lord You have promised in Your word that Your grace is sufficient for every trial and each difficulty in life and I trust that this means that Your grace is sufficient to bring me to that point of genuine and gracious forgiveness. And so I cast this unforgiveness at Your feet and pray that You would forgive me for holding onto my unforgiving heart for so long knowing that in Christ Jesus, You have forgiven me so much. Thank You Lord for dying on the cross for me and for forgiving all my sins Thank You that Your grace is sufficient for me in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

The Thursday before Easter is known as either Maundy Thursday, or Holy Thursday. Maundy is derived from the Latin word for "command," and refers to Jesus' commandment to the disciples "Love one another as I have loved you." Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, which Christians consider the institution of Holy Eucharist, also known as the Lord's supper or communion. It is described in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 22. At the Last Supper with his disciples, Jesus breaks bread, saying, "This is my body," and pours wine, saying, "This is my blood." He then asks the disciples to "Do this in remembrance of me." The Last Supper was a Passover Seder, the feast of unleavened bread. Jesus and the disciples are eating unleavened bread. Passover is the Jewish festival commemorating the exodus of the Jews from Egypt, when they left so quickly there was no time for the bread to rise. Maundy Thursday is also associated with foot-washing. Jesus washed the feet of the disciples, an act described in the Gospel of John, chapter 13, as Jesus teaching them to be servants. It's the ultimate act of "servant leadership." Jesus instructs his followers to love and to serve. Jesus foretells his death, saying he will eat no more until the kingdom of God is fulfilled. It also marks an act of betrayal. "One of you will betray me," Jesus says. Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus' 12 disciples, is pointed out by Jesus as the one who will betray him. Around the world, Bishops and priests come together at their local Cathedrals on Holy Thursday morning to celebrate the institution of the priesthood. During the Mass, the Bishop blesses the Oil of Chrism that will be used for Baptism, Confirmation, and Anointing of the sick or dying. At this Mass, the Bishop washes the feet of twelve priests to symbolize Christ’s washing of his twelve Apostles, our first Bishops and Priests. Later that night, after sundown, because Passover began at sundown the Holy Thursday Liturgy takes place, marking the end of Lent and the beginning of the Sacred "Triduum,” or three days, of Holy Week. These days are the three holiest days in the Catholic Church. This Mass stresses the importance Jesus puts on the humility of service, and the need for cleansing with water, a symbol of Baptism. Also emphasized are the critical importance of the Eucharist and the sacrifice of Christ’s Body, which we now find present in the consecrated Host. At the conclusion of the Mass, the faithful are invited to continue Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the night, just as the disciples were invited to stay up with the Lord during His agony in the garden before His betrayal by Judas. After Holy Thursday, no Mass will be celebrated again in the Church until the Easter Vigil celebrates and proclaims the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Everybody loses or misplaces items from time to time. For Catholics, a prayer to St. Anthony of Padua is often said to help locate lost items. St. Anthony of Padua was born in Lisbon in 1195 and died in Padua in 1231 at the age of 35. His attributes include the book, bread, Infant Jesus, a lily, fish and a flaming heart. Known for his intense preaching, knowledge of scripture and devotion to the poor and sick, St. Anthony was canonized and beatified in 1232. He is also considered the patron of lost souls, amputees, fishermen, shipwrecks and mariners among many other titles. St. Anthony of Padua is the patron saint of lost items. He has invoked thousands—maybe even millions—of times daily to help people find things that they have misplaced. The reason St. Anthony is called upon for help in finding lost or stolen things can be traced back to an incident in his life. As the story goes, St. Anthony possessed a book of psalms that had tremendous personal value. One of St. Anthony's novices stole the book and left. He prayed for it to be found. While on the road, the novice felt moved to return the book and to the Order. He did and was accepted. Novena to St. Anthony This novena, or nine-day prayer, to St. Anthony to find a lost article also reminds believers that the most important goods are spiritual. St. Anthony, perfect imitator of Jesus, who received from God the special power of restoring lost things, grant that I may find [name the item] which has been lost. At least restore to me peace and tranquility of mind, the loss of which has afflicted me even more than my material loss. To this favor, I ask another of you: that I may always remain in possession of the true good that is God. Let me rather lose all things than lose God, my supreme good. Let me never suffer the loss of my greatest treasure, eternal life with God. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I come to You saddened in soul and with a heart that is breaking. You brought a special person into my life, for which I thank You Lord, and we were so happy together for a time, but for many reasons, including my jealous nature, things have gone sour between us, and we have moved apart. Lord, I confess to You that I acted in a way that was not appropriate and did not permit trust between us to develop and to grow, as it should. Look down on us in pity I pray, and ask that; You would open up an opportunity for us to be properly reconciled so that we may build up our relationship together. Lord, I know that so often, when we make foolish mistakes, we have to take the responsibility for the outcome, which is not always the way that we would hope, but I do pray that our relationship is not finished and that in Your grace, You would restore again the joy of being together and the special love we had for each other. Change Me Lord, remove this jealous streak that has caused me so many problems in my life I pray, for I know that this is not from You Lord and make me more like the Lord Jesus, not only in my actions but in my attitudes and emotions. May Your will be done in our lives and even if we do not get back together, Lord, I pray that we may be reconciled, so that we may separate graciously and not in the current animosity. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, we thank you and bless you, In this life you have already provided all that we can ask or need. Thank you Father, that your provision is not based on our efforts, but on the inheritance given to us, by the death of Jesus Christ. Father, it is your desire for us that we would experience prosperity in all that we put our hands to do. For there is great need in this world. Lord, we desire to be in a position, that we can give to every good work, that the Kingdom may advance and lives can be transformed by your amazing love. We speak forth promotions, business ideas, divine connections and partnerships. We stir up the same creative spirit that made the heavens and the Earth, to bring forth new ideas and inventions for the betterment of this world, that we can be a blessing to many. Order our steps into the provision that you, Oh God, have already granted us, your children. So Lord Jesus, be our savior from debts, burden and financial struggle. Set us free in our finances, just as you have saved us from sin, death and the grave. Give us wisdom and joy that we can be good stewards over all that you deliver into our hands. Continue to advance the work of those that do good work. Help us to continue to provide for those in need, both spiritually and physically. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!!! 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

Heavenly, Most Loving, Gracious Father, we come before you to humbly ask that you comfort us in our moments of loneliness, that you be our shelter in the midst of the storm, that you walk beside us every step of the way. Lord, at times we feel so alone, crying out for attention, in desperation, looking for some sort of acknowledgement from a single soul. Remind us that you are always there, right at our side, whenever we call. No matter the time, the hour, the situation, Oh Lord, you have promised to never leave us nor forsake us. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Lord, there are times we think we can turn to loved ones and friends in our time of need, but they forsake us. Oh Lord, you alone know what we are going through. Sometimes we vocalize our thoughts but no one understands. There are many times we cry out to people to listen, when we need a friend, but they hardly ever take the time to show compassion. Give us strength, dear God, to carry on when we are down and out and have no one to turn to. Let us always remember that You are our friend and our companion in our time of need. God, let us feel the Holy Spirit as He comforts us. Help us to realize that You are the only one we need, especially in times of trials. Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Touch the hearts of the people who feel lonely today, Oh Father. The ones who are broken-hearted. Those who are bullied. The ones who have everything and everyone around them but they still feel alone. People who have lost loved ones, and have no families, the single parent. Dear God, reach out to all of them. Father, guide us as we pray for strength to fight against the feeling of loneliness and depression, help them all to experience peace, love and joy in these difficult times, in the mighty name of Jesus we pray… AMEN! Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Heal my hurting heart and bind up the lacerations that have penetrated so deeply into my soul, for You alone are my hope, You alone are my strength, I have nothing and no one left but You Lord. Bind up my fragmented heart I pray as You have promised, Psalm 147:3 "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." I trust in You alone, Lord, to heal my broken heart. I give You my fragmented heart and pray for Your blessed peace Your perfect peace Your gracious peace that passes all human comprehension. Take me as I am Lord and fill me anew with your love and grace for only through You, can I be renewed in spirit only in You can I rest in safety, Amen.

Dear God, I am coming to You as I need Your help. I have tried to lose weight many times over but I find it so difficult to stop eating. Lord - I like to call it a little bit of ‘cuddly’ weight but I know that in all honesty this should be labelled for what it is it’s stems from gluttony. Lord, I am ashamed that I cannot control my eating habits and it is becoming embarrassing to me and I believe that, it is also developing into a health problem as I am finding I have some breathing problems. Help me Lord, I pray to rid myself of not just of the weight, but of the fixation I have for food. Lord I want to stop lying to myself and to You and face this problem head on and call it what it is an eating obsession. I have been critical of others in the past, who have had other forms of obsession for which I ask Your forgiveness, but I want to face the truth in my own life and I am coming to You to ask Lord, to ask for Your guidance and help as I seek to break this evil habit in my life. Thank You Lord for always being there for me, Amen.

Good Friday, marks the day when Jesus Christ was crucified and died in Calvary. It falls on the Friday right before Easter. It is a solemn day mourning the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. Also known as Great Friday, Holy Friday or Black Friday, many Christians spend the day fasting as it is a day of mourning and penance. Across the world, Christians observe this solemn day with humility and reverence by remembering the passion and sacrifice of Christ. This day is symbolic of the win of good over evil because it is believed that Christ died for the sake of humanity; he bore the sacrifice on behalf of the rest of humankind and is considered the bridge between God and mortals. It is written in gospels that Judas, one of the twelve disciples of Christ, betrayed him for thirty silver coins. Accused of blasphemy, Christ was sentenced to death and crucified with two criminals. During his interrogation by the High Priest, Christ was silent. In the solemn oath, the High Priest asked, "I adjure you, by the Living God, to tell us, are you the Anointed One, the Son of God?" Christ, who replied by saying, "You have said it, and in time you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Almighty, coming on the clouds of Heaven." Three days later, Christ was resurrected from the dead on Easter Sunday. The significance of this day lies in the Church's commemoration of Christ's arrest, crucifixion, death and eventual resurrection. To commemorate Good Friday, processions are organised by churches around the world to educate people and draw their attention to the day when Jesus died for humanity. Some churches also hold meditation services and remove all the decorations from the statues. For years, most Christians refuse to eat meat on Good Friday. The death of Jesus symbolises the death and forgiveness for all of mankind's sins, with Jesus taking the ultimate sacrifice for the good of all humans. For Christians across the world, Good Friday is observed as a day for solemn mourning. The day is spent fasting, in prayer and repentance on the suffering of Jesus.

Father, As we journey these next days, keep us in your loving care. Protect us from danger, from mechanical failure, and from violent storms. Make us wise and prudent around water, and in the woods or mountains. Give us respect for nature, so that we neither defy its power, nor defile its beauty. Help us to be kind to one another, and to enter into the relaxation of this trip with joyful hearts. May we return home more thankful, more generous and more mindful of your blessings. We ask you to bless all travellers with the same protection and kindness. We pray all this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for my family, and bless You that You placed me in this home. Thank You for the parents You gave me, and the friends and family that You have placed in my life. Help us to draw ever closer to each other in the bond of love and fellowship and may You become the central focus of our home, our hearts and our family more and more with every passing day. And I pray that the influence of Your love and grace in our lives, will reach out to all. May our hearts be united in love for You and may there be Christian harmony, one with the other. Help us to develop a biblical perspective in our home, serving and being served, loving and being loved and looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, the unseen guest at every meal and the silent visitor to every conversation. Help us to be real in our conversation and honest in our hopes and fears and help us to listen to each other with genuine interest and encouragement. Develop in us the same mind that was in Christ Jesus and may we learn to live in godly harmony together, not being selfish or self-important but gracious, courteous and thinking of the needs of others before our own, and Lord, may Jesus be welcome into our home every moment of the day, in whose name we pray, Amen.

Jesus was on a mountain teaching His disciples. ‘Therefore I tell you,’ said Jesus,’ do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. ‘Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing? ‘Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns… ‘… yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you more valuable than they are? ‘And which of you by worrying can add even one hour to his life? Why do you worry about clothing? ‘Think about how the flowers of the field grow; they do not work or spin. ‘Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these! ‘And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, won’t he clothe you even more, you people of little faith? ‘So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ ‘For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. ‘But above all pursue His kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ‘So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.’

“One day Buddha was walking through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him. “You have no right teaching others,” he shouted. “You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake.” Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man “Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone, and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?” The man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered, “It would belong to me, because I bought the gift.” The Buddha smiled and said, “That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are then the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself. “If you want to stop hurting yourself, you must get rid of your anger and become loving instead. When you hate others, you yourself become unhappy. But when you love others, everyone is happy.” The young man listened closely to these wise words of the Buddha. “You are right, o Blessed One,” he said. “Please teach me the path of love. I wish to become your follower.” The Buddha answered kindly, “Of course. I teach anyone who truly wants to learn. Come with me.” Music: http://www.purple-planet.com

Ash Wednesday is the day after Shrove Tuesday, which food lovers will know better as Pancake Day. Both are important dates in the Christian calendar, heralding the arrival of the Lent season. A sombre religious festival, Lent sees Christians fasting and giving up their usual luxuries or habits to replicate the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ when he journeyed through the desert for 40 days. The period technically lasts for 46 days but it is only 40 days of fasting because the six Sundays leading up to Easter Sunday are not included. Ash Wednesday can fall as early as February 4 or as late as March 10. This year Ash Wednesday is on February 14 20 18, coinciding with the most romantic day of the year - Valentine’s Day. Ash Wednesday derives its name from the blessing of ashes made from palm branches from the previous year’s Palm Sunday. The ashes are usually placed on the foreheads of Christians in the sign of a cross during mass. Roman Catholic churches of the Latin Rite use this service to prepare church members to better appreciate the death and resurrection of Christ through self-examination, repentance, prayer, fasting, and self-denial. The custom reminds parishioners that they are ultimately sinners and need to repent. Priests will administer the ashes along with the words "Repent, and believe in the Gospel" or "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return", signalling to people that they should start their period of fasting and introspection. Besides showing sorrow for their sins, those who honor Ash Wednesday add an additional meaning; the need to prepare for a holy death. Music - https://www.bensound.com

Dear Lord, we thank You for bringing us together in love and as we have kneeled together to make vows to each other and to You we ask that You would be with us through this wonderful and exciting journey through life, as man and wife. Lord we want You to direct and govern our lives together and we pray that we may build each other up and strengthen the other rather than tearing each other down with careless actions and hasty words. Help us to guard our tongues and conduct our lives in a godly manner. Help us to keep our eyes and hearts faithful to each other, and to You and may we learn to live and move and have our being founded on Christ, who is the founder and finisher of our faith and our only help in time of trouble. Teach us to listen to the other, to listen and to pray together and to respond to each other with wisdom and grace. Help us to construct a transparent wall of trust between us and to wear the inner garments of grace and love, patience, wisdom and joy and this we ask in the name of Jesus our Lord and Saviour, in Whose name we pray, Amen.

Our lives can get overwhelming, daunting, and hard. We can easily get discouraged, frustrated, and burned out by circumstances or relationships that are beyond our control. In those seasons where we are feeling hopeless and helpless, the best thing we can do is turn away from the challenges and turn toward Christ. When we remember that God is in control and our lives are not our own, we remember we have a Savior who gives us strength when we are weak and who comforts us in all our times of need. Our Loving Father has given us so much to be grateful for in every season Life, salvation, loved ones, tiny blessings in our busy days, kind words from strangers, the list goes on. So often our worries are so heavy because we refuse to put them down. Let's cast our burdens on the Lord. Let's consciously put our future in his hands. Let's trust our worrisome fears to his care. We know he loves us and longs to sustain and comfort us because of what he has done to save us. Let us Pray: Holy God and loving Father, I consciously place my fears, worries, anxieties, and burdens in your hands. I know that I have so little power to change the outcome of these events and I trust that you will work what is pleasing to you, and best for me, out of these situations. Forgive me for my anxious thoughts and for letting my own worry become an idol that robs you, of my full trust. Strengthen and empower me to trust you more by the power and presence of your Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." —1 Peter 5:7

GENESIS Chapter 3 - Adam and Eve In the middle of the garden of Eden were two special trees. One was the Tree of Life and the other was the tree giving knowledge of good and evil. God told Adam he could eat the fruit of any tree but he must not eat the fruit from the tree giving knowledge of good and evil. To do so would be to disobey and bring death. Now the serpent (Satan) was more crafty than any living creature. He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden”?’ The woman replied, ‘We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God told us not to eat fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, or touch it, or we will die.’ ‘You will not die,’ the serpent said to the woman. ‘For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’ The woman saw that the fruit of the tree looked good for eating. She also desired to know about good and evil and gain wisdom so she took some of the forbidden fruit and ate it. She gave some to Adam, who was with her, and he ate it too. Immediately they realised they were naked. So they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Then the two of them heard the sound of the Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day. They hid from God among the trees. God called to Adam, ‘Where are you?’ Adam answered, ‘I heard you in the garden, and I was so afraid because I was naked, that I hid.’ God replied, ‘Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?’ Adam answered, ‘The woman you put here with me gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.’ Then God said to the woman, ‘What is this you have done?’ The woman said, ‘The serpent deceived me, and I ate.’ So God said to the serpent, ‘Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all other animals. You will crawl on your belly in the dust as long as you live. There will be hostility between you and the woman and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.’ Then God said to the woman, ‘I will sharpen the pain of your pregnancy, and in pain you will give birth. You will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.’ The God addressed Adam. ‘Since you listened to your wife and disobeyed, the ground is cursed. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it. It will grow thorns and thistles, though you will eat of its grains. By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat until you die. For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return.’ Then the Adam named his wife Eve, because she would be the mother of all who live. And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife. God said, ‘Humans have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the Tree of Life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!’ So God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and He sent Adam out to cultivate the ground. Mighty cherubim angels were posted to stop Adam and Eve returning to the Garden of Eden. And He placed a flaming sword that flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life. The Sacred Heart of Jesus represents Jesus’ divine love for humanity. The Feast of the Sacred Heart is a solemnity in the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar, and is celebrated 19 days after Pentecost. As Pentecost is always celebrated on Sunday, the Feast of the Sacred Heart always falls on a Friday. Jesus Christ appeared to Margaret Mary Alacoque in the 17th century and this is one of the blessings which he promised to those who practice devotion to his Sacred Heart: “In the excess of the mercy of my Heart, I promise you that my all powerful love will grant to all those who will receive Communion on the First Fridays, for nine consecutive months, the grace of final repentance: they will not die in my displeasure, nor without receiving the sacraments; and my Heart will be their secure refuge in that last hour.” This promise led to the pious Roman Catholic practice of making an effort to attend Mass and receive Communion on the first Friday of each month. First Friday of every month is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Let us make an effort to recite this prayer on the First Friday of every month at our homes or in the Church. O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Thee I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials, and sufferings, that my entire being may henceforth only be employed in loving, honoring and glorifying Thee. This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to Thee, and to do all for Thy love, renouncing with my whole heart all that can displease Thee. I take Thee, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my frailty and inconstancy, the reparation for all the defects of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be Thou, O Most Merciful Heart, my justification before God Thy Father, and screen me from His anger which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in Thee, O Heart of Love, I hope all from Thine infinite Goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist Thee. Imprint Thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget Thee or be separated from Thee. I beseech Thee, through Thine infinite Goodness, grant that my name be engraved upon Thy Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory, to live and to die as one of Thy devoted servants. Amen.

To help people understand what the Kingdom of Heaven is like, Jesus told this parable about a royal wedding. ‘A king prepared a wedding banquet for his son. Then he sent servants to invite his guests to the wedding feast. But they refused to come. The King sent more servants, “Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and fattened cattle have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.” But those who had been invited paid no attention. One went off to his field. Another went off to his business. The rest seized his servants, ill-treated them and killed them. When the King heard the news he was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed the murderers and burned their city. Then the King said to his servants, “The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.” So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find - the bad as well as the good. The wedding hall was filled with guests. The King noticed one of his guests was not wearing wedding clothes. He asked, “How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?” The man was speechless. Then the king told the attendants, “Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”’ Jesus finished the parable by saying, ‘FOR MANY ARE INVITED, BUT FEW ARE CHOSEN.’ Thanks for watching! Today has been a difficult day, O Lord, I feel as if I can’t go on. The loss I feel is so strong, it is almost tangible to me. I have had thoughts, that I know are wrong. I feel as if the loss of my loved one has left me empty and drained, so much so that I didn’t want to be here anymore. I need you, I need your strength, and I need you to preserve my mind and my body. I still cannot understand why you took them home? I loved and needed them and you still took them? Why? Isaiah, Chapter 57, Verse 1 "The righteous perish and no one takes it to heart, the devout are taken away and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil." I take comfort in knowing that they are better off with you and, one day, we shall all meet again. Father, I need you to pull me through. Give me that joy, help me to smile again. Give me beauty for my ashes and the oil of joy for mourning. Fill this void in my heart. Preserve my memories of my loved one. Help me to go on, Lord. I need your strength like never before. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Thank you, Father, for taking me in your loving embrace and helping me make the correct decisions. You are my guide, my Lord. You be my light. Amen. Psalm 27 The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?
