CSS reset stylesheet - Learn HTML front-end programming. A reset stylesheet is used to reset all the default CSS stylings which are pre-determined by most browsers. This is something most programmers will use in CSS files in order to avoid a lot of time wasting CSS code. Link to reset CSS code: http://html5doctor.com/html-5-reset-stylesheet/ -- mmtuts is a YouTube channel that focuses on teaching beginner and advanced courses in various multimedia related skills. We plan to make tutorials available on programming, video production, animation, graphic design, and on software such as the Adobe Creative Cloud programs. HTML and CSS for beginners is a how to series that teaches the HTML and CSS coding language to people who are just starting out learning programming. The course teaches how HTML and CSS can be made easy and teaches "front-end development" which is the visual part of websites. Creating static websites with HTML and CSS is easy and should not be seen as otherwise, which is why we want to explain the language in a easy to understand way for beginners. How to Apply CSS

02:02
Follow this step by step guide to learn the basic technique of creating a styling sheet in web page and applying it on different parts of it. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ CSS or Cascading Style Sheets is text file in a ".css" format which contains pre-defined style and formatting of HTML pages. It consists of Fonts name, their styles, colors, spaces, and other useful attributes. When calling a Style sheet in a source code of a webpage, it simply applies its pre-defined style on the Web page while displaying on the browser. There are other methods as well for applying css styling on a web page. You can also write a styling code in an html page instead of creating it separately. Here we will show you how to apply css by creating it within a source code of a HTML page. Step # 1 -- Insert a Paragraph tag In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to apply css on a HTML page. First of all, open up the source code of your HTML page in a Text Editor. Now insert a New Paragraph by enclosing the text in "P" and "/P" tags. Once done, save your changes and refresh the browser to view the newly added paragraph on the page. Step # 2 -- Insert the Style Tag Now in the next step, move over to the "Head" tag and insert the "Style" tag in it by entering the code as style p {line-height: 2;} /style Once done, save your changes and again refresh the browser and you will see that now the selected paragraph is having more line space. Step # 3 -- Create a Class in HTML page Now in this step, create a HTML Class by typing the code as p.first: first-line {font-variant: small-caps;} Once you have entered the code, save again and refresh the browser. Here you will see that there will be no change on the formatting of the page. This is because after creating a class, we need to call it on certain objects to apply its effect on them. Step # 4 -- Call the Class on a Paragraph For applying it in the CSS, go back to the source file, move over the paragraph tag and insert the code as Class= "first" Where "Class" code is used to call the class property while "First" is the name of the class which you want call on your paragraph. Once you save your changes and refresh the browser, you will see that the first line of the paragraph is now converted into all capitals as defined in the class. In this manner, you can easily be applying css on your own webpage.
Front-End Architecture | Setting Up & Organizing your Website Projects | Coding Tutorial

12:53
In this episode, I talk about how I organize my Front-End Develoment Projects to use modern technologies like SASS, Javascript, Task Runners and build my sites in a modular way. Remember to Subscribe https://goo.gl/6vCw64 Modern Web Front-End Web Development requires a bit more focus than it used to. You still basically link your stylesheets and scripts in your HTML document, but how you do that and how to redo that is important for workflow and the modular style of sites. Check out my video on ways to preprocess CSS: https://youtu.be/sMi9wuR22FE I cover the following in this video: 1. How to set up your project files organizationally 2. How to pre-process your CSS to make life easier 3. How to use, and what tools to use for Pre-Processing (task runners, terminal, Codekit) 4. How to think about code in a modular way The important thing is not that you set up and organize your projects just like me, but that you do it at all. There are many ways of doing that but it's about a way of thinking. WRITE LESS CSS

14:53
How do you make CSS easier to work with? Write less of it. The more CSS we write, the more difficult our stylesheets are to work with. When stylesheets are difficult to work with, we're likely to write more CSS. This leads to more bugs, less consistency, and more frustration for both developers and designers. Adam focuses on both technical and human problems related to maintaining CSS and a few solutions that have worked best at Meetup in our pursuit to write less CSS. Whether you're working with a legacy website or building a new React application with component-specific styles, he shows you how the most powerful CSS is the CSS you don't have to write. 4 Places To Edit WordPress CSS | WP Learning Lab

08:08
Grab Your Free 17-Point WordPress Pre-Launch PDF Checklist: http://vid.io/xqRL 4 Places To Edit WordPress CSS | WP Learning Lab To edit WordPress CSS you first need to know all the places you can find CSS. There are 4 common places. You may not have all these locations on your website because some of them are theme-dependent. The possible CSS locations are: 1. The WordPress theme or child theme stylesheet (this one you have for sure) 2. The theme options panel (this one you may or may not have) 3. A CSS editor on each page and post (this one you may or may not have) 4. Inline CSS applied directly to HTML elements on the page (this one you will have only if you're written it) Let's go through each one. The WordPress theme or child theme stylesheet When inside your WordPress dashboard if you click on Appearance then Editor you will be able to edit theme or child theme files. Usually the style.css is loaded first by default. If it's not loaded find the style.css file in the list of files on the right side of the editor page. When you find it, click on it. That will open the CSS file in WordPress editor. At this point you can make edits to the file and click on the Update button to save your changes. How to actually code CSS is beyond the scope of this tutorial, but you can check out my CSS channel over here (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeFLITjl2v9vtIkftw9UMsw) The danger in editing CSS directly in the stylesheet of the main theme is that what you create may be over written when the theme updates. You get around this problem by creating a child theme (see a tutorial on how to create a WordPress child theme here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8n1h-85SMQ). The theme options panel Not every theme has a theme options panel, but the ones that do make WordPress CSS so much easier to edit. You can simply add CSS to the CSS box in the theme options and click save changes. The upside is that theme updates won't erase the CSS code you create. A CSS editor on each page and post Some themes, like Avada and Divi, give you the option of insert CSS code right into the individual posts and pages of your website. This is great for CSS that you want to be only one page. I would only recommend doing this if you're putting more than 100 lines of CSS into the page. If it's less than 100 lines of CSS you're better to put into the main stylesheet so you stay organized. If it's more than 100 lines of CSS code that only need to exist on one page then your site will load a little bit faster overall by not loading all that CSS into every page. Inline CSS The last place in our list and the last place you'd want to create CSS code is right in your HTML elements. This is called inline CSS and can be difficult to work with for two big reasons. First, you can't apply the CSS to more than one element at a time. So if you want to style all the paragraphs on the page in the same way you have to apply the same CSS code over and over again to each p tag. This is a pain to administer and will result in larger than needed page sizes. Second, if you add inline CSS to lots of pages it will be come difficult to remember what CSS you applied where. Then trying to find it an make edits will become a pain. Inline CSS also takes precedent over CSS in the stylesheet. So you might be make changes to CSS in the stylesheet, but nothing is happening on the page. You'll go through a frustrating few minutes before you figure out the CSS is actually inline on the page. CSS As BYTECODE

27:00
Watch this amazing talk about the new Elm-based library Style Elements! The Style Elements library is a new set of primitives for working with layout and style in Elm. The most common goal when working with your view is usually to set or to adjust your layout. HTML and CSS make this difficult because there's no central place that represents your layout. You're generally forced to bounce back and forth between multiple definitions in multiple files in order to adjust layout, even though it's probably the most common thing you'll do. The Style Elements library makes layout a first class idea, which makes working with style and layout a breeze. CSS Variables - An introduction to CSS custom properties

12:02
CSS variables (also known as CSS Custom Properties) are a really powerful—and underused—feature available in CSS today. They are very similar to Sass variables if you have any experience with them, but they actually have more functionality than variables from preprocessors! (If you've never heard of Sass, you can read more about it here: http://sass-lang.com/) This video is the start of a deep dive CSS variables tutorial series. In this video, I look at the very basics of them. From what CSS variables are and why they are awesome, as well as how to write and use them. Later on in this series, we'll also look at how to create fallbacks for older browsers, as well as how JavaScript and CSS variables are awesome, and much more. CSS Variables Tutorial: How to Use CSS Custom Properties

09:38
In this CSS Variables Tutorial you'll learn how to use custom properties to make better, more manageable style sheets. It used to be that you had to use SASS to get the feature of using variables in your web style sheets but that involved having to use some kind of pre-processor to parse your SASS code into CSS. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to use CSS variables without SASS? Well with CSS variables now you can. A CSS variable is actually a custom property in CSS so imagine writing your own CSS language and you're pretty much have CSS variables. In this tutorial you will learn how to use CSS variables in your code and we'll go through a simple style sheet and identify the opportunities to add CSS variables. First off, we'll look at how to define a CSS variable and then walk through how to add it to an existing style sheet. Once updated, you will see how CSS variables can make your life easier. #cssvariables
How to Display Code as Code in a Browser

10:32
How do you format code to look like code in browsers? How to get monospacing, styling, and syntax highlight to display on a website in any language. I'll show you how in this video and include steps in the description below. ★☆★ DOWNLOAD KOMODO ► http://bit.ly/Komodo-IDE-Learn-Ruby ★☆★ Komodo is one of the best Editors/IDE's for Ruby programming. If you already have an editor, I recommend trying out Komodo. I've tried all the others and I still came back to Komodo. This is important for when you're sharing code on your own blog or website. You need to be able to share your sample code while still allowing the using to highlight the text. How to Apply Style in HTML

01:23
This tutorial will walk you through the concept of styling sheet in HTML and how to use its attribute in a HTML page. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Style tag is the most commonly used tag for web designers for applying styles and themes of a web page. It is used to define a format and style of fonts, colors and their alignments. In HTML, we first have to create a style sheet using a CSS format. This style sheet contains pre-defined formatting. After creating a sheet, all we have to do is to simply call out the sheet in a HTML page source code by creating a link. Here in this tutorial, we will teach you how to apply style in html page using a CSS style sheet. Furthermore, we will teach you how how to link style sheets. Step # 1 -- Create a Style Sheet In this tutorial we will guide you on how to apply style in html. First of all, we are going to need a style sheet in a ".css" format which we have already created here as "Style.css". This style sheet contains pre-defined styles for your HTML page. Step # 2 -- Link the Style Sheet in your HTML Page Now open up the source code of the page in a Text editor to edit it. Once done, insert a "Link" tag in the "Head" section of the page by entering the following syntax as, link rel = "stylesheet" type = "text/css" href = "style.css" / In this syntax, the "Rel" code shows the relationship between your HTML page and the style sheet. The "Type" code is a string for using the css over text and the "href" code refers to the style sheet name which you want to apply on the page. In this manner, you can link style sheets and work with them accordingly. Step # 3 -- View the Changes Once done, go to the "File" menu, save your changes and refresh the browser to view the new style applied on your HTML page.

Rush through SASS for CSS in 7 Minutes

07:48
Patreon | https://www.patreon.com/jream Follow on Twitter @ https://twitter.com/jreamdev Very easy to use SASS. There are two types of formats: SASS and SCSS. I am using SCSS since it's the newer version and it's more like CSS. You can use SASS or SCSS syntax, they are similar, but SASS is more like Python with tabs and no semi-colins :)

HTML pre tag (Preformatted Text Element)

03:43
The Preformatted Text Element will preserve the extra white-space (i.e. tabs, new line characters) of the content within as it is rendered on the webpage. This makes it useful for outputting code or anything really that requires the original state of the text to be preserved. In this video we compare the differences between pre and a regular HTML element as well as explore a way in which you can combine this tag with PHP. (5/11) Adding Code Snippets with CODE and PRE Elements

03:39
If you find yourself needing to add a snippet of code to your webpage for visual purposes and not to be rendered by HTML, you'll want to use the CODE element to semantically denote that piece of content as computer code. If you want to retain invisible elements of the content, like white-space, indents and carriage returns, then you'll need to use the HTML PRE element for that purpose. Thank you for your awesome support. Feel free to share your suggestions in the description below. There are 3 basic languages to develop a website. 1 HTML - Hyper Text Markup Language 2 CSS - Cascading Style Sheets 3 Javascript What is HTML? HTML is the standard markup language for creating Web pages. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language HTML describes the structure of Web pages using markup HTML elements are the building blocks of HTML pages HTML elements are represented by tags HTML tags label pieces of content such as heading, paragraph, and so on. What is CSS? CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed on screen, paper, or in other media CSS saves a lot of work. It can control the layout of multiple web pages all at once External stylesheets are stored in CSS files Browsers do not display the HTML tags, but use them to render the content of the page. What is Javascript? JavaScript is a programming language that allows you to implement complex things on web pages. Every time a web page does more than just sit there and display static information for you to look at , Right from displaying timely content updates, or interactive maps, or animated 2D/3D graphics, or scrolling video jukeboxes, etc. You can bet that JavaScript is probably involved. It is the third layer of the layer cake of standard web technologies, two of which (HTML and CSS). Music: http://www.purple-planet.com

3 Ways to Preprocess CSS in 3 Minutes

Preprocessing CSS doesn't have to be scary, intimidating, or confusing. CSS Preprocessing with tools like Sass or Less is so common at this point that it's a no brainer choice. It speeds up your workflow, makes your code more maintainable, and easier to write. There is so much that could be said about preprocessing but in this video, we just scratch the surface and I show you a few ways to get your project up and running within 3 minutes using Sass. CSS Button Generator - Entice Visitors To Click your Call To Action

05:45
CSS Button Generator Will Buttons Attractive To Visitors https://youtu.be/L06Nr6LaDI0 Grab your free 17-Point WordPress Pre-Launch PDF Checklist: http://vid.io/xqRL One of my favorite CSS button generators is BestCSSButtonGenerator.com. But if you don't like that one just Google "CSS button generator" and you'll find a bunch of others to try. One of reasons I like this button generator is it offers pre-built buttons that you can choose from. You can use them as-is or adjust them to suit your needs. Adjusting them is as easy as using scroll bars and basic input fields to the right of button preview. You can adjust nearly every aspect of the buttons you create. When you're ready to apply the button styles to the buttons on your site simply click on the button preview. The area on the right where you were adjusting the button values will reveal the HTML and CSS code that generates the button. You probably already have a button on your site, so you don't need the HTML code. Just copy the CSS code into your stylesheet. If you don't know where to put the CSS code watch this video showing you were to find a spot to put CSS in your themes. Now that you have the CSS code on your site, the next step is applying it to the correct selector. Submit buttons on forms can be selected using input[type=submit] {} That is the entire selector, no hastag for an ID or period for a class. Using that, the style will be applied to all submit buttons on your site. If you're happy with that then you're all done. If you want to apply that button style only a specific button then you need to do some more work. Either wrap the form or button in a div with a unique ID or find a unique class or ID you can use via the inspector in your browser. If you are using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, you can right-click on any element on a page and then click on Inspect in the context menu that pops up. This will display the code of the page that you can then interact with. Somewhere, around the button of interest, there will be an element with a unique ID or class that you can use as part of the selector like this: #UniqueID input[type=submit] {} or .UniqueClass input[type=submit] {} Then the style will only be applied to that specific button. It may take some trial and error to find the right ID or class, but keep trying. You'll find it!
