Design Theory: How To Make Dynamic Compositions

14:48
How to make your motion design frames more dimensional. Create dynamic compositions with this one trick. One tip to make your designs more impactful. One simple tip for how to make your designs, photos, and illustrations better. Blind creative director, Matthew Encina, joins Chris Do in this quick tutorial/lesson on creating more dynamic compositions. To keep things simple and clearly illustrate what I mean, I’ve put together a few greyscale examples that show how adding contrast to your frames can drastically improve your compositions and effectiveness of your storytelling. If you ever find yourself stuck with a boring composition, push the contrast in the value, weight, size, and color of your subjects. Start drastically, then pull it back. One formula I like to use often is: 1 really BIG object — usually the subject, and most important element in the frame. 1–2 medium sized objects — secondary elements to give meaning to the main object. Tons of very tiny objects — tertiary elements to give movement and additional context for the frame. Typography Tutorial - 10 rules to help you rule type

03:35
Graphic Design Tutorial: 10 Typography rules to help you improve your type skills. Get better at graphic design by understanding how to use type. Improve your layouts instantly by following these 10 easy to follow rules. How can you quickly apply typographic rules to regain control of your layouts by following these 10 golden rules of typography? These rules are distilled down from the things that I learned by going to Art Center College of Design. Generally speaking, there are two types of typography– expressive typography (type is visual, carries the meaning of the word and sometimes appears as physical shapes) and functional typography (type that is meant to be read). I will focus on the latter. When starting out, it is best to learn the fundamentals of good design: hierarchy (primary, secondary and tierchiary reads), flow (how a person “reads” the layout by following the movement of their attention), legibility (in Western culture, type is read top to bottom, left to right so it’s important to arrange type accordingly), grouping (organizing blocks of type in intelligent and logical groups) and interest, achieved through contrast (scale, texture, color, density, negative space). Use any typeface you like as long as it’s one of the following: Akzidenz Grotesque, Avenir, Avant Garde, Bell Gothic, Bodoni, Bembo, Caslon, Clarendon, Courier, Din Mittelschrift, Franklin Gothic, Frutiger, Futura, Garamond, Gill Sans, Gotham, Helvetica, Letter Gothic, Memphis, Meta, OCRB, Rockwell, Sabon, Trade Gothic, Trajan and Univers. _________________________________________________________________ Great books to learn more about typography: Stop Stealing Sheep & Find Out How Type Works by Erik Spiekermann http://amzn.to/2iNXwC8 Josef Müller Brockmann Pioneer of Swiss Graphic Design http://amzn.to/2k7o5Yb Typography Manual @2017 Chris Do https://blind.com/blog/typography-manual/ _________________________________________________________________ Animation by: Leo Dinh Red Cat Motion http://redcatmotion.com Music and sound design by: Adam Sanborne http://adamsanborne.com _ Listen to our podcast on iTunes: The Futur https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-futur/id1152604340?mt=2 Android Stitcher http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/aaron/the-futur HOW TO SUPPORT THE FUTUR: Purchase a Kit: http://theskool.co/collections/all or subscribe to the secret and private Master mind group on Facebook with exclusive videos not released anywhere else. Here we have broken down composition into 4 basic components, and have shown how they can be arranged into visually strong layouts.

How do you design a nice layout? How do you design a good magazine spread? How do you design typography over a page? What makes for good type, layout, and design? The principles of typography and design are discussed in the second part of Chris Do's review and art direction of graphic designer, Minhye Cho. In this Futur classic episode, Chris review's Min's work on The Futur's upcoming magazine. Here he sheds light on his process while critiquing the work of Minhye Cho, an amazing graphic designer at The Futur, who is working on the layout. Chris goes in depth with regards to typography and how the print process will affect final costs and the quality (both objective and perceived) of the printed publication. PRINCIPLES OF GOOD PLANT LAYOUT IN HINDI | Meaning | Operations Management | BBA/MBA | ppt

06:34
#YouTubeTaughtMe PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT (POM) This video consists of the following: 1. Meaning and concept of plant layout: Plant layout is a “technique of locating different machines and plant services within the factory so that the greatest possible output of high quality at the lowest possible total cost can be available”. It signifies the arrangement of machines work areas material handling equipment’s transport and storing of different materials products tools and fixtures etc. Proper plant layout is one of the keys of success in factory management. The layouts for the same product may be numerous but which costs less in the long run is the best. Since plant layout is responsible for an orderly flow of materials productivity and morale of the workers it is necessary to have systematic layout planning. This has become all the more necessary with the increasing costs of the land labour and building materials. 2. Principles of good plant layout: i. Principle of minimum travel. ii. Principle of sequence. iii. Principle of usage. iv. Principle of maximum visibility & accessibility. v. Principle of safety and satisfaction. vi. Principle of flexibility. vii. Visual Design Principles: 5 things you should know to create persuasive content

09:48
Read a case study of how visual design principles work here http://blog.visme.co/data-storytelling-tips/ To communicate visually, you have to understand how humans absorb visual information. A problem with visually designed content is that people too often create visuals for the camera and not for humans. It may surprise you to know that people do not process images like a camera. Your brain has a 2% field of vision vs. the 180% field of view of the camera. The camera's large field of view means that it’s able to get all the information in front of it in one go. Visual design principles tell us the human eye processes visual content by rapid eye movements called Saccades. Saccades are when the eye is quickly moving around an environment grabbing small pieces of information to build the bigger picture. Your brain thinks it sees a complete image, but in reality, it’s absorbing small pieces of it. So the question is HOW does visual design for the human eye? Or more importantly; how do we create content that will encourage people to take the action we want? That’s exactly what I’m going to go through in this video: You’ll learn: 1. How to establish your focal point for the reader 2. How to differentiate between areas of importance 3. You’ll also learn how patterns are your friend 4. The effect of simplifying your focus 5. And finally, you’ll learn how to create subtle interactivity that draws the reader towards key areas of your content." Now, let's go over the steps in the visual design principles

Wordpress Web Design tutorial: designing your top level web page templates

09:29
Get my blueprint cheat sheet here http://bit.ly/webblueprints. In this video I'll cover the main assets to a web page including page navigation, banners, sidebar design, footer, and body page specs. I'll include things like word count, keyword saturation, video placement, and outbound links as well as links to other videos on similar topics. Don't forget to share this video with your friends who are struggling with website design! For every subscriber, YouTube pays me a piece of chicken and a can of beans so PLEASE Subscribe to my channel: http://bit.ly/XkdbXS --------------------------- Video Notes: ************************1. Create templates************************ Now a, a big problem that I see with business owners and like clients that hire me and, and other Wordpress web designers is for every page, they're designing like, a new page. You know, it's like well, we need to add a new page to our website. It's like, oh great, I gotta design a whole nother page. Now it doesn't work that way, you need to be creating templates and a lot of website, website themes today support a template based system. So what we do is we create a series of templates that you can now export to the rest of your pages. But it's still important that those templates. ************************2. Top level Navigation************************ First of all, and of course, you know, like you're, you're always, this could be your social media links up here. This could be like your phone number, or an email button. You know, having those, always able to contact me, buttons, I think is a good idea. Up here you've got your navigation tabs. Now, when I first started in this, it was kind of like the thinking that you should have seven navigation tabs. I don't agree with that anymore. I think that you need to have like four or five, tops, and they need to be very simple. Every single one of them should be directed at converting a viewer to sale. So you don't need one of these navigation tabs to say home. Right? Cuz typically your logo will lead you home. You, you need it to say something like, About Us. What we offer. How to work with us. And our blog. Something like that. Wordpress web design tutorial Designing a top level web page template ************************3. Sidebar and Footer************************ I believe in side bars. Some people are doing like this whole page design, that's okay. That's fine. If that's the, the intent of your site. I like side bars because it enable me to, to engage with the viewer in different ways. Use related pages for your web design- It might be helpful to have YouTube. You know, YouTube marketing. Landing page videos. Video production. Video bumpers. You know? Maybe even a tag that says, what are you looking for? And then underneath that I have a little circle there. Which I typically use to represent a testimonial. So maybe you've got. A Wordpress testimonial widget right in there, where it's, every time it's refreshed, a new testimonial pops up, right. So you're engaging with the viewer that way. You might even have like social media links on, experimenting with an Instagram box. We'll see how that turns out. Let's go to your, I'll come up to the main page last, go to your footer. Your footer here is a huge resource. I like to have a three or four box footer that maybe has, like, you know, a summary about us, maybe our social links and then, maybe, like, a schedule, like schedule with me, or a work with me, right. And this could be an image. Maybe it looks like a contact box, but it's an image, and when you click it. It will go back to that work with us page, see. And then maybe in here you've got something you like your blog roll. Right? So your, your latest and greatest blogs. Or maybe it's like your most popular blogs which you know, you can, you can work that out with some plug ins. ************************4: Main Page************************ In your main page or top level design page, your main body, let's go back to that. Okay, we said about 400 words. But look at how I have it structured. I have an image up at the top and then I have some text right next to it. Now underneath that I have more text. Underneath that I have some bullet points. So basically what you have here is you've got, you know, everything you really need to convert that viewer. Right up here, right up there. And then you're gonna say something like let's dig into that a little bit more because you don't want them necessarily moving off of your page, right? --------------------------- For more information: WEB: http://thevideospot.net TW: http://www.twitter.com/owenhemsath FB: http://www.fb.com/yourvideospot
