Tracy Gold is shopping in Milan for a few days. In this video she shows you where to shop in the Brera district.***** Meet Tracy in Milan/ Rome for your own Italian Style Makeover https://goo.gl/bcYBWe Subscribe to my channel https://goo.gl/wSXFlV Visit website http://tracygoldfashiontips.com Follow me on Instagram https://goo.gl/QHy3Qt About the video: The best way to get to the main part of Brera is by train. Take the Garibaldi station. From there you can walk into Corso Como where the famous concept store, 10 Corso Como, resides. They sell high price items at about €1000 per item. There are also some interesting stores in this square. For example, Roberto sells cashmere scarves at a reasonable price. Follow via Garibaldi into the quiter part of town. Here you will find some vintage and interesting stores offering Italian designed and made clothing, jewellery and accessories. For example, Gum handbags and Vitti Ferria Contin jewelery store. I found a market in Via San Marco that is open on Thursdays and Sundays. It has fresh local produce, designer brands for lower prices, vintage handbags and cashmere scarves. Milan is definitely a shoppers paradise, especially if you are into high-end Italian brands like Gucci, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Etro, Fendi, etc. Just across the Giorgio Armani Hotel in downtown Milan, you will find Via Montenapoleone. Via Montenapoleone is the most exclusive shopping street in Milan. Make sure to visit, if you have plenty of cash to spend Lol Anyway, it is an interesting place to visit even if you are not planning to buy anything. From Montenapoleone Street, I walked to the Ferrari store which is located in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. So you can also enjoy some amazing buildings along the way!

This is the Naviglio Grande that connects the Ticino river to Milan, and as a result, even Lake Maggiore. There are barges here, just like in Holland, and small bars and cafés in the corners. The tram runs past here and it looks like a northern city! Leonardo da Vinci reorganised the Naviglio system in the 16th century, which meant there was a waterway that would carry the traffic, that nowadays, of course, all goes by road. The Naviglio was made for sailing on, and tourists here have the opportunity to experience the thrill of sailing in Milan! Places to see in ( Milan - Italy ) Brera District Brera is a district ("quartiere") of Milan, Italy. It is located within the Zone 1 (the historical core of the city) and it is centered on Brera street. The name stems from Medieval Italian "braida" or "brera", derived from Old Lombardic "brayda" (often Latinized as "praedium"), meaning a land expanse either cleared of trees or naturally lacking them. This is because around the year 900, the Brera district was situated just outside Milan's city walls and was kept clear for military reasons. The root of the word is the same as that of the Dutch city of Breda's name and the English word "broad". Brera houses the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the Brera Art Gallery, which prominently contributed to the development of Brera as an artists' neighborhood and a place of bohemian atmosphere, sometimes referred to as "the milanese Montmartre". Both the Academy and the Gallery are located in Palazzo Brera, the main historical building of the area; this same building also houses Milan's botanical garden as well as an astronomical observatory and the Braidense National Library. Other features that contribute to the character of Brera include restaurants, bars, night clubs, antique and art shops, colorful street markets, as well as fortune tellers' booths. From 1998 to 2002 novelist Paolo Brera, along with Franco Brera and Francesca Brera, edited and published the magazine Brera, devoted to the Brera district. Well-known journalists, art critics and fiction writers contributed over the years, including Rossana Bossaglia, Giuseppe Pontiggia, Guido Vergani, Vittoria Colpi, Carlo Castellaneta and Giulio Signori. Places to see in ( Milan - Italy ) Navigli District Navigli is the name of the triangle bounded by Milan Naviglio Grande and the Naviglio Pavese which is headed by the Porta Ticinese dock and covering a large part of the southwestern quadrant of the city. Navigli District is a charming district, where you can have a pleasant walk or have an aperitivo Milanese. It is nice in every season to walk there, with a smooth breeze on your face. There are two canals, which are called Naviglio Grande and the Naviglio Pavese (the word Naviglio itself means the Canal in Italian). Both of them are surrounded by different types of cafés, restaurants, bars, design shops, art galleries etc. Usually what we do is just to start our evening having an aperitivo in Navigli, choosing one random restaurant we’d like to sit and then head to a bar to continue our night-out! Since this district is full of options, it become the first destination. Only thing you need to do in order to reach there is to take the green line with metro and take off in the stop called Porta Genova, the second alternative is as always the tram if you’d like to enjoy the city sight at the same time in your journey. There is held the vintage bazaar every last Sunday of the month and if you are lucky you can catch it in your trip as well! It might remind you the northern canal cities like Amsterdam at the first sight. Do whatever you want in this city, but better not miss this enjoyable and cool area full of everything ( Milan - Italy ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Milan . 1. The Duomo, Cathedral of Milan The view from the lofty spires of Milan’s Duomo is an experience not to be missed; indeed the entire cathedral is an extraordinary narration of six centuries of history conveyed in the smooth marble from Candoglia, the light filtering into the aisles and the countless ancient statues. 2. The Castello Sforzesco Nowadays the Castello Sforzesco, the city’s fifteenth-century defensive fortress, is a place to admire innumerable works of art - from the Pietà Rondanini to Leonardo's frescos - and also a place to enjoy pausing in the courtyards embraced by the massive walls. 3. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II It is one of life’s pleasures to stroll through the lovely elegance of Milan’s sitting room par excellence, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, sheltered by the airy glass and steel dome of the ‘Octagon’ and enchanted by the allure of its shop windows. 4. The Fashion District - Quadrilatero della Moda The heart of Milanese exclusive shopping is very close to the city centre - in the area between via della Spiga, via Montenapoleone, via Manzoni and Corso Venezia - with the designer labels that have made la moda and Made in Italy style famous worldwide. 5. Church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore Amongst the hidden wonders of Milan, between the ancient city centre and the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie, stands the church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore that enchants visitors with its wooden choir and the unexpected beauty of its frescoes. 6. Brera Art Gallery Set in one of the most charming city neighbourhoods, the Pinacoteca di Brera is considered as one of the most popular art collections in Europe; not to be missed are the magnificent works by Mantegna, Raphael, Bellini, Piero della Francesca, Caravaggio and Hayez. 7. The Teatro alla Scala Since 1778, the operas and ballets at La Scala have provided exhilarating emotions for enraptured audiences; its famous stage has hosted the greatest artists - from Arturo Toscanini to Claudio Abbado and the magnificent voice of the iconic Maria Callas. 8. The Navigli (Canals) The Navigli district is the ideal place for a romantic evening stroll along the city’s waterways, both for the once-a-month date with the bustling antiques market or for an easy chill-out at one of the many restaurants and bars. 9. Porta Nuova and Corso Como Milan’s state-of-the-art architecture and its vibrant nightlife scene come together amongst the skyscrapers of Piazza Gae Aulenti and Corso Como - the perfect place for gazing in awe at the Vertical Forest and enjoying a happy hour with friends. 10. We made time for major attractions like Il Duomo, Sforza Castle, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, but we also veered away from the crowds in search of street art and interesting neighborhoods. This being Italy, we also tried to prioritize meals, sampling everything from pizza to risotto, and cappuccinos to aperitivos. The following travel guide will highlight 20 things to do when you visit Milan, Italy 1) Milan Catherdral (Il Duomo - Duomo di Milano - Domm de Milan) 2) Il Duomo Terrace 3) Italian Breakfast - Cappuccino and sweet Italian pastries 4) Sforza Castle - Castello Sforzesco 5) The Galleria - Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II 6) Risotto alla Milanese - Milan style risotto 7) Street Art around Porta Ticinese 8) Colonne di San Lorenzo - Columns of San Lorenzo Roman Ruins 9) Boat tour down the canal (linea traghetti gaggiano milano) 10) Dine along the canal in Milan's Navigli District 11) Aperitivo drinks and buffet - Apéritifs and digestifs 12) Shopping in Milan down Via Torino 13) Visiting Chinatown for some Chinese food 14) Ride a bicycle in Milan like a local 15) Pizza al taglio (pizza al trancio) Italian pizza by the slice 16) Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio containing relics of the 3 Magi 17) Duomo Museum covering the cathedrals history in-depth 18) New City Views with a hop-on-hop-off bus pass 19) Museum of Natural History - Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Milano 20) Night views of Milan nearby Il Duomo http://nomadicsamuel.com/photo-essays/20-things-milan-blogville Our trip to Milan, Lombardy was part of the Blogville project where we stayed in a local apartment and experienced all of the best cultural activities, museums, restaurants, arts and entertainment the city has to offer. This city guide is our best attempt to create a mix of best attractions and off-the-beaten-path activities that you won't necessarily find in a typical Milan tourism brochure. 20 Things to do in Milan Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript: Our first stop was Il Duomo, which is the most recognized attraction in the city. The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete. So we've sat down at a little cafe and we're going to have our first Italian breakfast with cappuccino and sweet pastries. Something that surprised us about Milan is that there is a castle right in the middle of the city. Sforza Castle was built in the 15th century by the Duke of Milan, and it then underwent several restorations and expansions in the following centuries. Today it houses several of the city's most prized art possessions, including frescoes by Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo's very last sculpture. For some upscale designer shopping, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is the place to be. So we just found a local little restaurant and we're going to be trying a traditional dish that is very popular in this city and in the Lombardy region. We are going to have Risotto alla Milanese. The Colonne di San Lorenzo are the remains of Roman ruins that date back to the 2nd century. They are believed to have been part of a bath house. Another fun activity to try in Milan is a boat tour of the canals. The city's canals are attributed to Leonardo Da Vinci, who in 1482 was called over by the Duke of Milan to help renovate the city’s canal system. Milan's Navigli District is one of the liveliest parts of town especially when the sun goes down for dining al fresco. So we've gone out for our first Italian Aperitivo. Which is kind of like a pre-dinner drinking tradition. Basically, you get yourself a cocktail for about 10 Euros and that gives you access to this massive buffet. And that's all for our visit to Milan. We hope this video will give you some cool ideas of sights and attractions to check out. This is part of our Travel in Italy series showcasing Italian culture, Italian arts, Italian foods & Italian cuisine. WATCH IN HD! Hey guys! I mainly came to Milan not for vacation, but to help my mom with some family stuff. I decided to make a video documenting my trip since I was staying here for one month. We ended up spontaneously booking a trip to Rome to get out of Milan for a few days. Sorry if the video is a little shaky, we were walking while taping so it was hard to stabilize everything. (also, were not professionals lol). For ideas on where to go in Milan: Piazza Del Duomo- This is the most touristy area of Milan because of the famous Cathedral. It is also in the middle of all the other main shopping streets, so everything is fairly close by. Via Torino- This street is full of clothing stores that are more budget friendly. Here you will also find some chain shops (like H&M, Zara, etc.) The latest fashion trends are all on this street with great looking clothes for a good price! Via Montenapoleone- Just one stop on the metro before the duomo, this street is known for its upscale shopping boutiques. It is a famous and important street of the fashion district in Milan. Luini's Panzerotti- This is a famous little gem right in the middle of the Duomo shops that makes the best panzerotti. It is situated in a small side street, and usually has a huge line of people waiting to get their hands on this greasy delicious little calzone style pizza! A must try! Via Dante- This is a cool street consisting of more shops (of course!) and cafes/bars/restaurants. It is a closed street where there are plenty of shops to look at from left to right. This street also leads you right in front of the Castello Sforzesco. Castello Sforzesco- Beautiful Castle that leads you to the Sempione park. A must see! Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed.
