Quickstart: Getting Started with Oracle and .NET

08:56
New to Oracle and .NET development? This video gives you everything you need to know to get up and running quickly! We walk you through downloading and installing the needed Oracle software and then connecting in Visual Studio and creating a simple C# application. The video starts at the Oracle .NET Developer Technology Center website at http://otn.oracle.com/dotnet We then download the "ODTwithODAC" package, extract it and run the installer. Note that ODAC version 12 works with Oracle Database versions 10.2 or higher. After installing we connect in Server Explorer and learn about the connection dialog features, including the Filters tab which by default filters out additional schemas you may have privileges on. We connect to the database using the easy to use EZ connect format. Finally we create a simple C# application and connect to the database using ODP.NET Managed driver and a EZ Config connect string. Prerequisites: 1) Visual Studio 2012 or 2013 -- any edition except Express Edition. Visual Studio Community Edition is supported. 2) An Oracle Database to connect to. You will need to know the hostname, port number and service name of the database. During the video we install: Oracle Data Provider for .NET Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio Oracle .NET Samples Oracle .NET Documentation
Oracle Database as Document Store & SODA QBEs

58:14
JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) has become the dominant data exchange format of the 21st century. As of version 12.1, Oracle Database offers powerful, flexible features for storing and querying JSON documents. In this video we show how the Oracle Database can be operated as a document store and documents can be searched by 'Query by Example' expressions, where the query itself is written in JSON. QBE's are provided by the SODA (Simple Oracle Document Access) Api which is available for REST and Java. What is Oracle Real Application Cluster - IT Shorts

01:31
What is Oracle Real Application Cluster - IT Shorts You go to a bank. And there is a teller. Actually there is only one teller. What happens? All the people wait in line. The teller acts as an interface between the client and the bank's documentation system. Right? Now imagine, there are two tellers. The queue can move faster. Why? Because two tellers can serve more people than one teller in a given time. However, both the tellers would access the same bank's documentation system. Now, imagine a regular, standalone Oracle database system. One database server, Talking to one storage device where the database is stored. And that server serves the clients. Now, let me add one more database server. And make this server to access the same database stored in that same storage device. Now, two servers can serve those clients more efficiently. If one server goes down, the service is still online. Because the other is still serving. This is called Oracle Real Application Cluster. Oracle Real Application Cluster can address scalability and high-availability requirements of an organization.

This evaluation should reveal the following information:-How many disk drives are available to the Oracle products-How many, if any, dedicated tape drives are available to Oracle products-How much memory is available to the instances of Oracle Database you will run (see your system configuration documentation) Task 2: Install the Oracle Database Software: As the database administrator, you install the Oracle Database server software and any front-end tools and database applications that access the database. In some distributed processing installations, the database is controlled by a central computer (database server) and the database tools and applications are executed on remote computers (clients). In this case, you must also install the Oracle Net components necessary to connect the remote systems to the computer that executes Oracle Database. Task 3: Plan the Database: As the database administrator, you must plan: -The logical storage structure of the database -The overall database design -A backup strategy for the databaseConsider how the logical storage structure of the database will affect: -The performance of the computer running Oracle Database -The performance of the database during data access operations -The efficiency of backup and recovery procedures for the database Task 4: Creating, migrating, and opening the database: After you complete the database design, you can create the database and open it for normal use. You can create a database at installation time, using the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA), or you can supply your own scripts for creating a database. Task 5: Backup the Database : After you create the database structure, perform the backup strategy you planned for the database. Create any additional redo log files, take the first full database backup (online or offline), and schedule future database backups at regular intervals. Backup Strategy May Include: - Entire database (whole) - Portion of the database (partial) Whole database backup: Includes all data files and at least one control file (Remember that all control files in a database are identical.) Partial database backup: May include zero or more tablespaces and zero or more data files; may or may not include a control file. Backup Types (RMAN) - All data blocks within your chosen files (full) - Incremental - Cumulative - Differential Backup Mode May Be: - Offline (consistent, cold) - Online (inconsistent, hot) Offline backups (also known as “cold” or consistent backup): Are taken while the database is not open. They are consistent because, at the time of the backup, the system change number (SCN) in data file headers matches the SCN in the control files. Online backups (also known as “hot” or inconsistent backup): Are taken while the database is open. They are inconsistent because, with the database open, there is no guarantee that the data files are synchronized with the control files. Task 6: Enroll System Users Task 7: Implement the Database Design Task 8: Recovering from database failure Task 9: Monitoring Database Performance Task 10: Download and Install Patches Task 11: Roll Out to Additional Hosts To Get more Tutorial Subscribe The Channel click here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?sub_confirmation=1 To Get All Post Like The Facebook Page Click here https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?view_as=subscriber Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/465557066961548 Contact us: email: [email protected] Skype: oracle26solutions Mob: 01734557080, 01627422780
