Oracle Data Integrator 12c - Creating and Connecting to Master and Work Repositories

45:43
This is the first in a series of three recorded webcasts in the Oracle Data Integrator 12c: Getting Started series. The tutorials are located at https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=44785:24:0::::P24_CONTENT_ID,P24_PREV_PAGE:7952,1. Repositories are schemas and tables in a database that hold information about ODI Designs, Topologies, and Security. There is a one-to-many relationship between Master and Work repositories. The repository schemas and tables can be created either manually using ODI Studio or automatically using Repository Creation Utility (RCU). RCU is the preferred method of maintaining the repositories. The database storing the repository can be Oracle Database 12c or several other supported databases. This recording will walk you through the steps that are needed to create and connect to the Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Master Repository and the ODI Work Repository using Repository Creation Utility (RCU) and ODI Studio. Creating Local Repository in RHEL 6.5 and RHEL 7 to Install RPMs

12:03
Using yum command is always better as compared to rpm command since it can resolve all dependencies of the package being installed. For Example if you want to Install a Package A which is dependent on Package B, then you must install Package B first to continue the installation of package A. In can of yum command, it check the dependency of the package and if a proper repository is configured, then it will automatically install all required packages. This Demonstration assume that you have copied/dumped all the rpms from RHEL DED (Package folder) to local directory. Once the rpms are copied to a local directory, watch this video to learn how to configure the local repository. Arch Linux 2017.08 Installation + Cinnamon + Apps + Guest Additions on Oracle VirtualBox [2017]

21:12
This video tutorial shows Arch Linux 2017.08 installation with Cinnamon Desktop Environment on Oracle VirtualBox step by step. We'll also install applications such as Firefox, VLC, GIMP, Pluma Text Editor, Terminology Terminal, FileZilla and LibreOffice on Arch Linux 2017. This tutorial is also helpful to install Arch Linux on physical computer or laptop hardware. We also install VirtualBox Guest Additions on Arch Linux for better performance and usability features: Automatic Resizing Guest Display, Shared Folder, Seamless Mode and Shared Clipboard, Improved Performance and Drag and Drop. Steps: 1- Create Virtual Machine on Oracle VirtualBox 2- Start Arch Linux Base Installation 3- Installing Xorg and Cinnamon Desktop Environment 4- Installing Firefox, VLC, GIMP, Pluma, Terminology, FileZilla and LibreOffice Applications on Arch Linux 5- Install VirtualBox Guest Additions on Arch Linux 6- Test Guest Additions Features: Automatic Resizing Guest Display and Shared Clipboard What is Arch Linux? Arch Linux is an independently developed Linux distribution targeted at competent Linux users. It uses pacman, its home-grown package manager, to provide updates to the latest software applications with full dependency tracking. Arch Linux uses a rolling release model, such that a regular system update is all that is needed to obtain the latest Arch software. The installation images released by the Arch team are simply up-to-date snapshots of the main system components. The default install provides a solid base that enables users to create a custom installation. In addition, the Arch Build System (ABS) provides a way to easily build new packages, modify the configuration of stock packages, and share these packages with other users via the Arch Linux user repository. Arch Linux Website: https://www.archlinux.org/ Download Arch Linux ISO: https://www.archlinux.org/download/ Arch Linux Minimum System Requirements Arch Linux should run on any x86_64-compatible machine with a minimum of 512 MB RAM. A basic installation with all packages from the base group should take less than 800 MB of disk space. As the installation process needs to retrieve packages from a remote repository, a working internet connection is required. What is Cinnamon Desktop Environment? Cinnamon is a desktop environment that is based on the GTK+ 3 toolkit. It was released in 2011. Cinnamon originally started as a fork of GNOME Shell, thus initially as a mere graphical shell of the GNOME software, but became its own desktop environment in Cinnamon 2.0. Cinnamon was developed by the Linux Mint distribution, with wider adoption spreading to other distributions over time. Hope you found it informative and useful.
