Creating Duplicate and Standby database using RMAN cloning database oracle on linux make standby db
Views: 6563 mohamed suez
The procedure for creating a standby database with RMAN is almost the same as for creating a duplicate database. To create a standby database with the DUPLICATE command you must connect as target to the primary database and specify the FOR STANDBY option. You cannot connect to a standby database and create an additional standby database. RMAN creates the standby database by restoring and mounting a control file. RMAN can use an existing backup of the primary database control file, so you do not need to create a control file backup especially for the standby database. A standby database, unlike a duplicate database created by DUPLICATE without the FOR STANDBY OPTION, does not get a new DBID. Thus, you should not register the standby database with your recovery catalog. Please Find the below link to download checklist to create Active duplicate standby: ************************************************************************************* https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1Vyp5-9fissS21aUWxISDYyQWc Follow the below link to find other oracle stuffs. http://oraerrors.blogspot.in/ Pradeep kumar +91-9972201100

A short demo of Sentrigo's Hedgehog vPatch, featuring Slavik Markovich, Sentrigo's CTO. Hedgehog vPatch™ protects the database between vendor-issued patch updates with 2 components: 1. Host-based software Using sensors to safeguard the DBMS against attacks and misuse, Hedgehog vPatch does not affect applications running on the database. Instead, we closely monitor in real time any attempt to exploit vulnerabilities on the database, thus creating a way for you to patch virtually. This includes blocking and alerting. 2. Automated updates courtesy of Sentrigo's Red Team Recently credited by Oracle with finding Oracles most recent severe vulnerabilities (October, 2008) via buffer overflow and SQL injection, our team of security researchers are the leading authorities in detecting and resolving DBMS vulnerabilities.

Use this configuration when you want to configure a relatively simple replication environment that only involves two databases and a small number of tables. You might also choose to use synchronous captures if you have Oracle Database 11g Standard Edition. To use capture processes, you must have Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition.

We always have a great time shooting video during Oracle OpenWorld 2010 and of course, there were some flubs. Dick Clark made bloopers famous and we're not above sharing our fun mistakes. I especially like the Mic Outtake about halfway through. Thanks to Chris Akker, Ron Carovano, Calvin Rowland, F5 Booth Staff, Oracle and everyone involved with Oracle OpenWorld.
