Because after spending years building muscle naturally I've learned that there are certain useless exercises that you should avoid entirely other exercises that you might want to consider incorporating and then there are the exercises that you just cant go without. Exercises that by themselves have the power to transform your physique. I've narrowed this list down to just seven of the most important exercises that you absolutely should have as a staple part of your routine to efficiently build the most muscle in the shortest amount of time. By mastering these 7 key compound exercises you'll see incredible results even if you're not doing any other exercises in the gym. And I made this video specifically for men not because women can't benefit from these exercises as well but because the ideal attractive body type for men is a V shape whereas for women it's more of an hourglass figure. So even though a lot of the exercises do crossover for both men women this video is specifically to help you develop the best manly physique with the least amount of exercises possible. I'm going to list off these exercises in no particular order, so Let's start first with a very important upper body exercise the bent over barbell Row. With this exercise you'll be working the rhomboids which are the muscles that connect your shoulder blades together so your upper back muscles and you'll also be working the back of your shoulder and your biceps. This is one of the most important pulling movements that you can do. Because you're working multiple muscle groups responsible for Pulling you're able to lift a lot more weight with this compound exercise then if you were to isolate any one of these muscles individually. By strengthening your rhomboids and your posterior deltoid you'll be tightening up your upper back which will help you hold yourself straight up and maintain a better more attractive upright posture. Since you can lift heavy weight with this exercise your biceps are also going to get a lot of stimulation because you'll be lifting a weight that would be impossible to lift with an isolated movement like bicep curls. A basic bent over row is done by grabbing a barbell with your hands a little wider than shoulder-width apart. Stick your butt out and stick your chest out before beginning the movement. Then bend down by about 60 degrees so you're a little higher than being fully parallel to the ground and you want let the weight hang straight down, do not flex your shoulders. While keeping your chest out pull the barbell inward towards your stomach and aim to touch your belly button with the bar. Then bring it back down to that hanging position and repeat this motion for reps. The great thing about rows is that you can do it with a barbell or you can do it with dumbbells, but a general rule of thumb to remember is that you'll be able to lift more weight and typically you'll be able to build more mass with barbells over dumbbells. Also by changing the angles at which you bend during a bent over row you can Target different parts of your back. A fully bent-over position where you're at a 90 degree angle will Target more of your lats and the middle of your back whereas standing more upright will Target more of your traps and upper back. Let's move on to another staple exercise that you should be doing, barbell and dumbbell chest presses. While the rows will help you develop the posterior or the back part of your upper body the chest presses are there to help you develop the anterior or the front part of your upper body. It'll hit your chest, the front head of your shoulders as well as your triceps. With chest presses you want to spend the majority of your time doing them at two different angles flat and incline. If your weakness is your upper chest you want to spend more of your time doing incline presses. if your upper chest is fine but you lack lower chest development you want to spend more of your time doing flat movements. This training focuses on learning to move from a muscle extension to a contraction in a rapid or "explosive" manner, such as in specialized repeated jumping. Plyometrics are primarily used by athletes, especially martial artists, sprinters and high jumpers, to improve performance, and are used in the fitness field to a much lesser degree. Plyometrics includes explosive powerful training exercises that are trained to activate the quick response and elastic properties of the major muscles in the body. It was Initially made famous by Soviet Olympians in the 1970s, providing the core element in the strength programs of elite sporting athletes worldwide. Sports using plyometrics include basketball, tennis and volleyball as well as the various codes of football. The term "plyometrics" was coined by Fred Wilt after watching Soviet athletes prepare for their events in track and field; he felt this was a key to their success. He began a collaboration with trainer Michael Yessis of Soviet (Russia)to promote plyometrics. Since its introduction in the early 1980s, two forms of plyometrics have evolved. In the original version of plyometrics, created by Russian scientist Yuri Verkhoshansky, it was defined as the shock method. In this, the athlete would drop down from a height and experience a "shock" upon landing. This in turn would bring about a forced eccentric contraction which was then immediately switched to a concentric contraction as the athlete jumped upward. The landing and takeoff are executed in an extremely short period of time, in the range of 0.1–0.2 second. The shock method is the most effective method used by athletes to improve their speed, quickness, and power after development of a strong strength base. Rather than using the term plyometrics to indicate exercises utilizing the shock method, it may be preferable to use the term explosive or true plyometrics which can be considered the same as the plyometrics originally created by Verkhoshansky. The shock method that he created was the result of studying the actions that occur in running and jumping. He found that the landings and takeoffs in these two skills involved high ground reaction forces that were executed in an extremely quick and explosive manner. For example, time of execution of the landing and takeoff in jumping was close to 0.20 second and in sprinting it was approximately 0.10 second. Since one of the main objectives of the Soviet research was to develop practical methods of training to improve athletic performance, Verkhoshansky tackled the task of how these forces in explosive execution could be duplicated in an exercise. By doing exercises such as the depth jump, that he created, the athlete would enhance his ability in the takeoff and his resultant performance in the running or jumping event. He experimented with many different exercises, but the depth jump appeared to be the best for duplicating the forces in the landing and takeoff. The second version of plyometrics, seen to a great extent in the United States, relates to doing any form of jump regardless of execution time. Such jumps cannot be considered truly plyometric (as described by Verkhoshansky) since the intensity of execution is much lower and the time required for transitioning from the eccentric to the concentric contraction is much greater. The term plyometrics became very popular with the publication of many books on the subject matter. It now appears impossible to go back to its original meaning and method of execution. As a result, it is important to distinguish which type of "plyometric" exercise is used in order to determine its effectiveness and potential to receive the stated benefits. Though the name plyometrics is given to all jumps, not all jumps are plyometric.

It has now spread all over the world. It is a combination of athletics, calisthenics, and sports. Street workout is a modern name for bodyweight workouts in outdoor parks. Street workout teams and organized competitions exist. Athletics exercising is used to increase strength level, develop physical shape and for rehabilitation. Isometric exercises - a type of strength training whereby you hold a static position. * Calisthenics (Kalestenos) – is a complex of many simple exercises which are performed using purely body weight. The aim of these exercises is to train muscularity strength and to evolve comprehensive fitness. * Urban Calisthenics - a form of body weight exercise performed with no or little apparatus. Individuals and/or groups train and exercise in urban areas and spaces. Advanced Urban Calisthenics skills include Muscle Up's, Typewriter pull ups and both Front and Back Levers. * Street Workouts are usually performed outdoor or in specifically designed street workout parks. A typical street workout park looks like a play ground with a soft underground and consists of several bars, poles and other objects used for body weight exercises. Hey, Matt Daciw here from Blue Star Nutraceuticals and today I’m gonna take you through a full body workout that focuses on explosive power and functional strength - all thanks to the unique weight distribution and flexibility of kettlebells. You’re about to find out how kettlebells can help you hit harder, jump higher, and chip away at the soft spots around your midsection to really help your six pack pop. Always thought kettlebells weren’t for you? Think again. This is the Kettlebell Power Workout! Let’s get to it! Warm-up To warm-up, do 5-10 minutes of walking lunges, bear crawls, broad jumps, and barbell ab rollouts. This’ll get you loose, limber, and ready to lift! Workout For this workout, you’ll perform 7 exercises in linear fashion. For each exercise, do 4 sets of 6-8 reps using 75% of your 1 Rep Max. Take 2 minutes rest between exercise to catch your breath. Complete the entire workout in under 1 hour and 15 minutes. Here we go! Exercise #1: Turkish Get Up Start on your back with the kettlebell extended directly over your shoulder with one arm, have the leg on that same side bent at 90, roll to your elbow then up to your hand, sweep your straight leg back into a kneeling position right under the kettlebell - come up to a lunge position then drive through the heel of the front foot to a full standing position with the kettlebell directly overhead in line with your shoulder then reverse the motion back down to the ground and repeat with the other side. Alternate side to side for 6-8 reps each arm. Exercise #2: Kettlebell Swings Grab a heavy kettlebell between your legs, brace your core and use your hip drive to swing the weight up, not your arms - your arms are just along for the ride. Be explosive with these and aim to raise the bell to shoulder height with the power and momentum driving from your posterior chain and hips. Perform 6-8 explosive swings with constant movement - no pausing at any point. Exercise #3: Kettlebell High Pull Start with the weight between your legs, then you are going to explosively drive the weight straight up with your shoulders as you hinge at your hips and drive them explosively forward. Be sure to keep your back perpendicular to the floor so you’re not hyper-extending, but use the momentum from your hips to help power the weight up explosively to shoulder height and control the weight back down. Exercise #4: Double Kettlebell Squat Clean Grab two kettlebells of even weight and place them in front of you. Squat down and clean the bells up to the front rack position on your shoulders then drive through your heels explosively with your core braced to a full stand, squat back down, return the bells to the ground and repeat for 6-8 reps. Exercise #5: Kettlebell Dead Snatch Set a kettlebell on the ground between your legs, set up in a deadlift position, core braced, back straight chest up - grab the bell with one hand and explosively drive the weight up finishing in a standing position with the kettlebell directly overhead, return to the starting position and repeat. Perform all reps on one side then switch sides. Exercise #6: Kettlebell Bent Press Begin standing with the kettlebell over your right shoulder, lean your upper body to the left as you drive the weight straight up with your right hand until your upper body is parallel with the floor and your right arm is fully extended to lockout. Use your core to move into an upright standing position with the kettlebell straight over head, control the weight down to your shoulder and switch sides. Alternate side to side each rep for 6-8 reps. Exercise #7: Single Arm Overhead Carry (40 Feet) Finally, to finish off this workout, drive the kettlebell overhead with one arm, while holding your other arm out to balance yourself and walk for a distance of 40 feet, then switch arms and repeat. Alternate arms each length for a total of 6-8 lengths. And that’s the Kettlebell Power Workout! Perform this workout once or twice a week to add a killer twist to your regular routine and watch your functional strength and head-to-toe explosive power dramatically improve. In this video, I show you the 7 most explosive home exercises that you can do with just your bodyweight and a pullup bar. Each of these bodyweight exercises hits a different area of your body. You will learn how to train your back, chest, arms, core, and legs with each of the different body weight exercises shown here. Each one has an alternative version that can be done if you aren’t quite at the level of strength required to perform the more advanced one. The 7 most explosive home exercises included are: Power plank ups - this bodyweight exercise is the perfect way to hit your triceps, chest, shoulders and core at home since it requires very little space and can be done either on your toes or on your knees. Plyo chin ups - This one requires just a bar and an underhand grip. By quickly releasing and regripping the bar you will be able to eccentrically work your back and biceps in one killer exercise. Glute/ham single leg plyo bridges - Work both your hamstrings and glutes with this explosive plyometric exercise and start slowing down the rate of hamstring pulls in the process. Hannibal Pushups - This upper body builder is one of the best ways to build explosive muscle in your chest and triceps training at home. Master the more difficult version of this exercise at home and start seeing the benefits of your hard work as you build a bigger chest. Pendulum Planks - This plyometric core exercise is another one that is perfect for any home workout routine. With the minimal space required to perform it, you will be able to sharpen up your abs and obliques with this one explosive movement. Rolling Squat Burpees - This two part exercise is a great way to teach one how to explosively get off the ground and build upper and lower body strength. Opt for the easier squat burpee alone if you can’t string together the combo just yet. 180 depth tuck jumps - Finish off this list of 7 best home exercises with the tuck jump that requires a bit of athleticism to perform a half jump turn in mid air. As you can see, the home exercises listed in this video are not the easiest in the world to perform. That said, nobody ever got anything worth having by making it easy. Intense leg session with my good mates Fresh and Maya. Leg Workout Routine: We always start our leg day with a few warm up sets, in this video we started off with leg extensions, leg curls (Including Gironda leg curl) and Glute bridges. After the sets mentioned above, we we're fully warmed up and ready to take on the compound exercises. Our working sets includes of SST(Sarcoplasmic Stimulating Training) with Squats - heavy sets, time under tension and high reps. Hack squats facing the machine(heels are higher and more emphasis on the glutes) then the other way round to lay more ephasis on the quads. We love the leg press machine as it targets multiple muscles and with leg press we focus on repetition. Combine the two - and regardless if you’re in the gym - on the track, or on the field - you’ve got two important physical attributes a man can possess. One without the other? You’re only half the man you could be. Welcome to the Blue Star Nutraceuticals Crea-Tech™ Lower Body Total Power Workout! During this workout, you’ll be performing a heavy compound lower-body movement - followed by an explosive one. This technique elicits a phenomenon called post-activation potentiation, which allows you to recruit more motor neurons to realize greater gains in strength and power. Let’s get into it. For this workout, you’re going to use a weight that is 80% of your one-rep max for the compound lifts - so if your max squat is 400lbs, you’ll be using 320lbs for this workout. If you can’t hit the prescribed rep ranges as the sets progress - drop the weight down. You’ll be performing 2 supersets. Each beginning with a compound movement for 3 repetitions, followed immediately by an explosive movement for 5 repetitions. You’ll be taking a 2 minute break, and repeating the superset 7 more times before moving onto the next one. Exercise A: Barbell Squat x3 maintain good form, but lift with intensity and be explosive. Take a big belly breath, brace your core, and squat down to parallel. Make sure to keep you head up, back straight, and your knees out. One of the biggest mistake guys make is beginning the movement with their knees. Instead, move your hips back to begin the movement to maintain a proper centre of balance. On the way back up - drive the force with your heels, not your toes. Exercise B: Box Jump x5 Grab a box or platform above knee height and perform 5 explosive jumps, jumping as high as possible. Don’t rush these - take your time to set up and perform them to the best of your ability. Superset #2: Exercise C: Deadlift x3 Keep your back straight, chest up, head in a neutral position - brace your core and lock everything in before you begin the movement, then pull the bar up, keeping it as close to your shins as possible using your hamstrings, glutes and low back. Remember, the arms are just hooks along for the ride, don’t pull with your arms, unless you want to end up tearing a bicep! We’ve got a great deadlift tutorial on youtube already that we will link to below if you need more assistance. Exercise D: Broad Jump x5 Once the deadlifts are finished immediately move into broad jumps. Jump as far as you can and Be as explosive as possible, but don’t rush them - take the time to set up and perform these jumps with the most force you can generate. Once these super-sets are complete - I recommend a good 15 minutes of hard conditioning work. Mix and match Farmers walks, tire sledges, push and pull prowler sled, kettlebell swings, tire flips, and med ball smashes. And by basic, Arnold doesn't mean easy. Many contemporary fitness centers are full of people on machines, not in squat racks, and big-box gyms often lack even a single platform. Arnold disapproves: "Today, when I go in the gymnasium, I don't see any of the kids learning about the clean and press, or the snatch, or the upright row from the floor." Schwarzenegger's insistence on the essential lifts is not due to some grandfatherly desire to live in the past. It comes from decades of continued interest and expertise in the industry, and from the hard-earned knowledge that it doesn't take fancy machines or off-the-wall programming to become arguably the best bodybuilder in history. Get back to your bodybuilding roots and experience unbelievable growth. | Arnold Schwarzenegger's Training Tips | Chest: "There are three chest exercises that should always be done," Arnold says. "The bench press, the incline bench press at different angles, and the dumbbell flye." Back: "For back, I did chin-ups, bent-over barbell and dumbbell rows, and the T-bar row. Any kind of rowing movement will give you that thickness. Those are the exercises I relied on from the beginning of my career to the end." Arms: Arnold relied on the barbell curl to build thick biceps, but he also used incline dumbbell curls and concentration curls to isolate his biceps. "For triceps," Arnold says, "we did a lot of narrow [close-grip] bench press in the early days. And then triceps push downs and overhead triceps extensions later." Shoulders: Arnold's shoulders were built by barbell presses, behind-the-neck barbell presses, lateral raises, military presses, and dumbbell presses. "We always did presses behind the neck and a special dumbbell press which would stretch out the front delt at the bottom and fully flex it at the top. Now those are called Arnold presses." Legs "The squat is the most important exercise to create big thighs," says Arnold. "I did back squats, front squats, leg extensions, lunges, single-leg deadlifts, good morning exercises, and a lot of leg curls." Let’s start with some basic definitions of plyometric exercises & workouts - beginners to advanced - because many people are very confused about the differences between aerobics, plyometrics, and calisthenics. Plyometrics (n) – Explosive exercises designed to increase your speed and power; these exercises rely on our muscles’ natural stretch-shorten reflex. Aerobics (n) – Cardio exercises to increase your endurance and burn calories. Aerobics workouts are typically NOT explosive and are more distance-geared workouts. Calisthenics (n) – Exercises that rely exclusively on your own bodyweight. As you’ll see in today’s video, many of the best calisthenic exercises do qualify as plyometric workouts.
