This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. How to BOOST Website Conversions By Personalizing Your Website and Marketing Message
You're lucky if five out of 100 people who land on your website buy something from you. Here's how to boost website conversions by personalizing your website for visitor. Subscribe here to learn more of my secret online marketing tips: https://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=neilvkpatel Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/neilkpatel/ Read more on my blog: https://neilpatel.com/blog/ The reason you want to personalize your website experience is because the more you can relate and personalize to that person or individual on your site, the more likely they are to convert into a customer and buy from you. The first way you can do this is through hellobar.com. Through hellobar.com, you can show people different messages depending on how many times they've been on your website. So if someone's been on your website three times, you can show them a different message than if they were visiting your website for the first time. For example, if they were on your website for the first time, like let's say if you were on Neil Patel for the first time, there's usually a message at the top that says, "Hey, do you want more traffic?" Yes or no? If you say no, then it'll give them a specific message catered to them If you say yes, I show them a different message! I do that through Hello Bar. And Hello Bar has many more features in which you can use to customize the experience. You can even show different messages to different people based on the referrer or if they came from a search or if they even came from a specific keyword. The second strategy that you need to use is GeoIP. GeoIP tells you what city, state, country that someone's coming from. You can then take that IP address and put their city within your headline copy. By doing that one little simple trick, I was able to increase my conversions by over double digits. It was really simple, and I used maxmind.com for the customized GeoIP where I can put the person's city or state or even country within my ad copy or my webpage copy. Last but not least, create a customized experience depending on what device type the person's using. If they're using a desktop computer, show 'em something different than when they're on a mobile phone. A responsive design isn't enough. You may have to exclude a lot of the elements that you have on your webpage when someone's coming from mobile because these mobile screens are so small these days you can't put the same stuff that you can on a desktop computer. Follow those three tactics, and you're gonna personalize the experience and boost your conversion rates. These landing page optimization tips really do work for your digital marketing efforts.

How Top Companies Develop Product Launch Messaging
Today’s topic is Product Launch and Messaging. Joining us is Rob Lips, Vice President of U.S. Sales and Channel Marketing at Intuit. Rob lead sales, channel marketing and analytics across Intuit’s retail, e-tail, inside sales, resellers, OEMs and financial Institutions. He is responsible for a +$900M business with a team of over 500 people. Product launches fail to generate revenue when sales people and channel partners are not involved in messaging development during prelaunch preparations. When messaging is developed in isolation it is not compelling enough to get your customers to act. Stories told directly to customers by well-trained sales channels enable customers and prospects to answer “Why change?” and this stimulates latent demand while leading to exceptional revenue growth. Watch as Rob talks through the messaging and storytelling approach based on his experience of successfully launching many products. Success requires sales reps to defeat the status quo. Rob explains how to develop and roll-out messaging where sales can tell stories about somebody else who in a similar situation took the plunge, and how they used your products and services to get to a better outcome.

How to Write Marketing Messages - Copywriting Secrets & Headlines that Sell
Sales Copywriting Secrets http://www.primeconcepts.com Ford Saeks reveals how to write compelling body copy and marketing offers. Make sure you watch the other YOUTUBE clips on writing compelling headlines first. We want a headline that makes the prospect read the subhead. A subhead that makes him read the opening. And an opening that makes him read the second paragraph. And each paragraph after that has the same function; to pull the reader through the body copy. For most people, opening a letter or ad is their hardest task. Once they get into the stream of the copy, they do fine. But most copywriters take a few paragraphs getting warmed up. Unfortunately the few paragraphs it takes to do that are likely to be the ones that drive away a large percentage of the prospects. No matter what medium you are working in, the prospect is busy, skeptical, and distracted. They open your sales letters over the trash. They scan a page in a magazine or newspaper before they commit to reading it. Their fingers are on their computer mouse ready to click or on the TV remote, just waiting to punch a button. So you dont have time to warm up. You have to grab them by the collar, throw them up against the wall, and practically shout, This is important to YOU. Pay attention now! And that has to happen first with your headline—and then your copy lead-in. So how do you get right into the meat, and grab the prospect without meandering around, warming up? I've got the secret. I learned this from legendary copywriter and business partner—Randy Gage. I'll explain the how to get immediately into a compelling narrative; and one that commands the prospects attention too! You'll want to start with one of the following body-copy lead templates. Use any one of them, and you are immediately into the copy narrative. And once you're there, the copy will flow naturally. All are effective; it is simply a case of deciding, which one is appropriate for the offer that you are making. Here they are, pay attention—this is worth millions! Please write down the categories then I'll give you examples. The Six lead-in sales copy templates are: The Burning Question(s) | The Invitation | The Behind the Scenes Story | The YOU approach | and The Take-way | Here are the examples The Burning Question(s): First, two questions, if I may... You can use one or more questions but no more that 3 in most cases. The Invitation: You're invited to be one of the first in your area to receive... The Behind the Scenes Story: It was eight o'clock on a Thursday morning. I arrived at my office to find... OR Well it happened again. I proposed a marketing strategy to a new client - who told me it wouldn't work. The You Approach: Executives like you are a very special breed. You're the kind of person that... The Take-Away: Odds are that you dont even qualify for the offer I'm about to make. But on the slight chance that you are... Let's review these sales copywriting tips: First, you already are a great copywriter. You either paint the mental picture of the joy the prospect will get using your product, or you paint the picture of the hardship he will continue to endure without it. You have a system for writing headlines and lead-in templates for writing the body copy. You can use the 4 Us to rate and improve your headlines too. How to build a marketing message that creates opportunities that only you can win
We are all somewhat in love with our own products and services, and can sing their virtues. There are two problems with that: Firstly, unless your buyers are looking for a solution right now, that product-centric messaging will fall flat; Secondly, by not understanding your competition, you might be painting a story that is failing to differentiate you from your competitors, or, worse, even creating advantage for them. So we need to build our marketing and sales messaging around the challenges and needs of the buyer, but a specific challenge and need that is deliberately different from our competitors'. In this blog, Hugh shows how to build a winning message to create new opportunities, that only you can win.

More Effective Sales and Marketing Messages #25
Many building materials sales and marketing people do not put their product message in context. They start right out with the reasons why their product is better. 4 Key Questions To Develop Your Brand Strategy and Messaging
Find more from Chelsea at http://www.techdivamedia.com. (Note: For context, start at the beginning. If you want to jump into the questions, go to 2:37.) When I work with clients, often they come to me with a request to build a new website, revamp their old marketing materials or help design an online program…something like that. While that is the end product they’re looking for, before we can get to that point, we have to zoom out to first look at the strategy and messaging behind it. Why is it so vital to develop your messaging BEFORE you figure out the design, development, and elements of your end product? Because the mistake often made is trying to sell what you do or have…NOT what your customers or clients WANT. What do they WANT? Why would they be looking for a solution in the first place that would help them start looking for you? What other options do they have if they don’t use your solution? These questions inform the approach of your messaging and your entire sales funnel. Answering these questions clarifies things like: - what headline to use on your homepage - if you need an email funnel, and what you’d say in it if you do - if you need to compliment your product or service with additional offerings, like backend support or an online course or a monthly mastermind - how to serve your clients better - how to reach more of your ideal customers…and connect with them more deeply Marketing isn’t about slapping on a great logo and a gorgeous, sleek website to your brand. Marketing is about building a relationship. If you pick up books on relationship building, starting a conversation, how to build a friendship…all of these books are MARKETING books. On your website, in your sales calls, in your follow up emails…you must understand what your prospect wants, not tell them what you do. These questions generally are much, much easier to answer by talking it out with your team, your existing clients, your colleagues or partner. It’s hard to answer these based on your opinion or assumption of the answer, because it’s like looking out from your own fishbowl. By answering these with someone who has another perspective, you’ll be able to dial into the core of your messaging with more certainty. Once you dial in your messaging by knowing the results you’re offering to people, then you can determine how to layout your website, structure your information and guide your design.

Keep Your Marketing Message Simple
There is a common temptation for marketers to tweak messaging continuously to fit the complexities of their product or service. This is not to suggest that product, service, or even marketing mix complexities don't matter, they do. But the underlying message that we are communicating has to be simple. It absolutely has to or we risk watering down our story to a point where there is no story at all. That is the topic for the ride today #letsdrive

Marketing a Brand: Best Tactics for Broadening Your Customer Base
http://602communications.com The best marketers don't just create a brand; they create a universal message that seamlessly crosses borders and effortlessly charms wildly different cultural groups. In this three-minute emotional marketing lesson video, emotional marketing expert Graeme Newell reveals how to appeal to very different customer groups, while still maintaining a tightly focused brand message. Marketing a Brand So It Has Impact When marketing a brand, all too often marketers end up just focusing on one or two small demographics. They slave away, marketing a brand to small groups, when they could be expanding their reach to all sorts of new, exciting areas. In order to stay competitive, marketers should always be on the lookout for how their product marketing plan can be tweaked to include as many groups of people as possible. Today, I'm going to talk about how to market a product so it will appeal to all sorts of wildly different groups of people. How to Market a Product to Almost Anyone So you're stuck with having to market your product to not just families, but single, middle-aged men, and young, African-American women. Marketing a brand to this many different groups sounds impossible, but it's not. The trick to marketing a brand to this many people is simple: you don't focus on any particular group, but rather an emotion. Every product marketing plan should include what their customers want to feel when they use the product. This feeling could be smart, courageous, or sexy. When considering how to market a product to many different groups, it's important to remember that emotions are often times universal feelings, common across many age, gender, and racial barriers. For instance, try injecting the emotion of "smart" into any product marketing plan. Chances are, everyone will respond positively. Why? Simply, everyone wants to be smart, and everyone believes that they are a little smarter than the next guy or gal. Marketing a Brand to Everyone Creating a universal message is the cornerstone to any good product marketing plan. By getting out of the business of marketing to a single group of people and moving into marketing to a state of mind, or an ideal, you are marketing a brand to many more people than was possible before, but are still doing it in a focused and effective manner. This also solves the problem of how to market a product to, say, both young and old. A young man is going to want to feel sexy, so it makes sense when marketing a brand to young men to make him feel sexy. But at the same time, when marketing a brand to, say, middle aged men, you can use the same branding techniques. This is how two very different demographics can be reached using the same emotional content. Updating Your Product Marketing Plan So take a look at your product marketing plan, does it include a lot of goals for tightly-regulated age and gender and racial profiles, or does it look past those things and hit on what really makes people tick -- their emotions. Use these universal emotions for more success at marketing a brand to a wide variety of audiences with equal effectiveness. When considering how to market a product to many people, using emotional branding is the only option.
