WHAT IS HIS TEDx TALK ABOUT? Jack Nasher is convinced that you don’t get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate. Good negotiators, however, are not born, they are made. Game of Thrones: How Power Really Works
Link to tip to strengthen your frame & build confidence: https://goo.gl/y2CvdQ Game of Thrones: How Power Really Works Game of Thrones is all about power games. What many people don't realize is that behind those power games are clashes of the way people see the world. There are clashes of frames. The people who can control these frames (like Tyrion Lannister and Tywin Lannister) tend to win over the Game of Thrones people who struggle more often (like Robb Stark). There are tons of ways you can use this understanding of frames in your normal life. We'll look at three in this video Note: the spoilers go up only through season 4, so if you haven't seen all the way to season 6, you are still good to watch 1) Breaking frames for persuasion (Tyrion vs. Shagga) 2) Frames in insults (Tyrion vs Robb Stark and Robb Stark vs. Jaime Lannister) 3) Frames to create options (Tyrion vs. Tywin and Tyrion vs. Lysa Arryn) Let me know how you feel about these fictional breakdowns! I have never done one in the past and would love your feedback. Especially let me know if you like Game of Thrones related breakdowns, because there is a lot more I could potentially cover (like Tyrion's charisma and persuasive abilities) Subscribe to Charisma On Command: http://bit.ly/subscribeCOC Connect With Us. Donald Trump's Debates: 5 Mental Tricks You Didn't Notice
Get the 4 emotions you need to make a great first impression every time: http://bit.ly/2H1opA6 Donald Trump's Debates: 5 Mental Tricks You Didn't Notice Donald Trump has proven himself to be a master persuader. His unlikely rise to prominence in the Republican primaries has riden on the fact that he knows how to work the media during interviews as well as his performances in the GOP debates against the likes of Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz. When watching the debates, many of his detractors criticize Trump's apparent lack of substance. For instance, he ducked Megyn Kelly's question about sexism with a joke about Rosie O'Donnell. He seems to repeat buzz words more than other candidates and often justifies his positions by referring to other people who support his stances, rather than defending them outright. While this may seem like weak arguments, Donald Trump's debate strategies actually align perfectly with the way humans think and process information. For that reason, Trump's arguments tend to sink in more than his opponent's (like Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz) do. In this video we'll look at the top 5 relatively unknown psychological truths that Trump exploits to get his point across during interviews and debates. Donald Trump's Incredible Powers Of Persuasion
Donald Trump Is Actually A Master Psychologist Link to 3 tips video: https://goo.gl/dqNQaw Could Donald Trump really win in 2016?? It seems like a ridiculous question, but Donald Trump's 2016 campaign has defied all the expectations from the pundits. Initially considered a joke candidate, he now leads the Republican pack in most national polls and the polls for the most important caucuses. At the same time, a huge portion of America would be mortified if Trump were to win. He's made remarks about Muslims and Mexicans that many have found offensive and those same people are baffled about how he could be the Republican frontrunner. It's no accident though. Trump has an incredible amount of charisma and an intuitive understanding of human psychology. We'll dive into how he's used it to garner support in what many thought was an impossible campaign. We'll see Donald Trump can take the nomination for presidency in 2016. Subscribe to Charisma On Command: http://bit.ly/subscribeCOC Connect With Us. Negotiation expert: Lessons from my horse | Margaret Neale | TEDxStanford
Co-author of Getting (More of) What You Want, award winning researcher and management professor Margaret Neale admits she doesn’t always take her own advice. In an honest talk about her personal experience, and based on her philosophy that “you can’t force someone to say yes,” Neale explains why her horse, Sal, may be the best reminder that successful negotiation is not a battle. Margaret Neale is the Adams Distinguished Professor of Management at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford. She was honored with the Robert T. Davis Award for Lifetime Achievement and has served as the GSB’s academic associate dean. She is the author of over 70 articles, one research series, and four books. Her most recent book co-authored with Thomas Lys, Getting (More of) What You Want, was published by Basic Books last year. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

TPP Trade Negotiations Kept Secret
Global Economic Recovery is a top priority of the United States. The Obama administration set up the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) to fast track the process. And what other group is better qualified to work out the details then the primary stakeholders - the industries directly impacted by trade barriers and regulation. Not surprising, they had plenty of suggestions to get things rolling. But most of what wound up in the agreement is secret. So when some of it leaked out - people took notice. Especially the parts changing the regulations on the environmental, copyright, Pharmaceuticals, labor, media, and health. All under the authority of a supper trade court empowered to force any country to abide by the agreement. Dr. Margaret Flowers has strapped herself to a 15 foot high metal tripod while another protester lay across the road both block traffic to a luxury golf resort where a very Important International Trade Conference is taking place. The police threaten imminent arrest. Nearby a banner sails high with a message drawing attention to the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), which attracts neighbors and conference attendees. Meanwhile, inside the resort, a spokesperson from the U.S. Trade Representative tries to explains the purpose of the meeting, the leaked documents and why no body, including Congress - according to Representative Peter Defazio, except the negotiators and industry lawyers and lobbyists can observe the meeting or see the draft of what's being negotiated. 3 Tips on Negotiations, with FBI Negotiator Chris Voss | Best of '16
Our brains react subconsciously to what is said during business negotiations. To succeed, it's important to choose your words carefully and be aware of the tone of your voice. Chris Voss is the author of "Never Split the Difference: Negotiating as If Your Life Depended on It" (http://goo.gl/04OgLC). Read more at BigThink.com: http://bigthink.com/videos/chris-voss-gives-language-tips-for-negotiations Follow Big Think here: YouTube: http://goo.gl/CPTsV5 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BigThinkdotcom Twitter: https://twitter.com/bigthink Transcript - How you use your voice is really important and it's really driven by context more than anything else, and your tone of voice will immediately begin to impact somebody's mood and immediately how their brain functions. There's actually scientific data out there now that shows us that our brains will work up to 31 percent more effectively if we're in a good mood. So if I smile at you and you see it or you can hear a smile in someone's voice, if I automatically smile at you and you can hear that I like you, I will actually be able to reach into your brain, flip the positive the switch, it puts you in a better mood there are mirror neurons in our brain that we have no control over; they automatically respond. And if I intentionally put you in a good mood your brain will be working more effectively and that already begins to increase the chances that you're going to collaborate with me. You'll be smarter and you'll like me more at the same time. Now upward and downward inflexion, downward inflexion is often used to say this is the way it is; there's no other way. And I will say it exactly like that. If there is a term in a contract that there's no movement on and I want you to know it and feel it without me having to say there's no movement on this, which maybe you want to yell at somebody and that's ineffective because that triggers a different part of the brain and makes people angry and they want to fight. And I've done this in contract negotiations. I've said things like, "We don't do work for hire," just like that. It lets the other side know there's no movement whatsoever. I also may need to put you in a more collaborative frame of mind and if I want to ask you a question I'll say something like it seems like this is important to you and I'll inflect up. It's more driven by context. And I can use an upward inflection to encourage you and smile while I'm questioning you. And that will make you feel less attacked by being questioned because people are made to feel a little bit defensive when they're question anyway. So if I know if I have to question you, if I want you to think about a different option then I'm going to be as encouraging as possible while I may be very assertive at the same time. It’s considered by many to be the most powerful law of human nature. Basically, it states that, “If you do something nice for me I’ll do something nice for you. I feel obligated to reciprocate.” For example, if we go out to lunch and I pick up the bill, you almost always offer to pay for it next time. Next time we go out to lunch, you insist on paying for the bill. There are different types of reciprocation which I will explain in the video. =================================================== ABOUT BRIAN TRACY Brian is recognized as the top sales training and personal success authority in the world today.
