Making Puffin Rock - Moho in a TV Series Pipeline: Webinar Replay

01:09:29
Making a TV series is a bit like a puzzle and Moho animation software is an essential piece that completes it. In this webinar, Jeremy Purcell (Assistant Director) will be showing how Moho worked with other tools like Shotgun, Deadline, Photoshop and After Effects to produce the TV Series Puffin Rock. Topics that will be covered in this webinar include: - Bringing a character from design to compositing - Seeing inside a character model - Working with a studio in another country on the same files - Seeing what a scene file is made up of This is a chance for you to see how a bigger animation production, Puffin Rock, and its 78 x 7 minute episodes structured a pipeline around Moho to get the best out of the software as well as how it works with other departments in the production. About the Presenter: Jeremy was Assistant Director on two seasons of Puffin Rock, for a total of 78 episodes. Prior to that, he was Efx Supervisor on two feature films with Cartoon Saloon: 'Brendan and the Secret of Kells' and 'Song of the Sea'. Director, illustrator and animator Tomm Moore has enchanted audiences of all ages with his Oscar-nominated feature films The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea. He was recently honored with the European Film Award. A co-founder of Kilkenny-based studio Cartoon Saloon, Moore is deserving of the comparisons drawn to Japanese master Hayao Miyazaki and his Studio Ghibli, resuscitating stories and characters of Irish folklore through a mix of animation techniques synthesizing hand-drawn and painted tableaux with 3D and CGI technologies. Moore has teamed-up on several occasions with illustrator and director Ross Stewart, including on The Prophet, and the duo is slated to co-direct their next project. The directors share their artistic approaches to scriptwriting, research and storyboarding and how the entire studio team contributes to this process. TOMM MOORE Irish animator and director. He is the Co-founder and Creative Director of Cartoon Saloon, where he has worked as director, art director, storyboarder, animator and illustrator on commercials and short films. He has directed the Oscar-nominated THE SECRET OF KELLS and its follow-up SONG OF THE SEA. He also directed the “On Love” segment for THE PROPHET, a feature animation produced by Salma Hayek, which is due for release later this year. He is dividing his time between the development of his latest project WOLF WALKERS and pre-production on THE BREADWINNER, based on the best selling novel by Deborah Ellis, which will begin production this year. ROSS STEWART Irish artist working in painting, illustration and animation, notably conceptual design and art direction. He worked on many award-winning animated short films and has recently been involved in three Oscar-nominated feature films: as art director on THE SECRET OF KELLS, visual development and conceptual artist on PARANORMAN and as concept artist on SONG OF THE SEA. Executive produced by Angelina Jolie and based on Deborah Ellis’ best-selling novel of the same name published in 2000, The Breadwinner is an inspiring and ultimately uplifting tale of familial love and loyalty in the face of oppression After her father is unjustly arrested by the Taliban, Parvana’s family are left without a man of the house, and the young girl is forced to dress and pass herself off as a boy. This allows Parvana to move around the city and work to provide the money the family need to survive. In a culture where females are forbidden from travelling anywhere alone, this places Parvana in constant danger, but desperate times call for desperate solutions.
