Hey Lewis! A little suggestion. You could, if you wanted to, give -2/-2 to a creature with Darkblast by playing it in your upkeep then dredging at draw then using at a second time when you got it back. That could have allowed you to kill the Gelectrode as well as give the Wee Dragonauts -1/-1 all at once. These Magic vids have been cool! Keep it up!
Lewis could have cleared duncan's board the turn after the golgari charm/abrupt decay. Since he forgot Plaguecrafter also makes the opponent sacrifice a thing, and if he sacrificed Savra to its trigger Duncan would have had to sacrifice another thing. Leaving him with an empty board. Probably wouldn't have had the nuts to kill Niv the next turn though, unless he drew a Putrefy or something
"I almost had exactly lethal"
I thought that's what he was going for till he said draw 4 cards. That was exactly lethal, puts him to 0 *and* if you ping the Gelectrode on his minion, play the card, ping the Gelectrode again to kill it. I *think* that works, not sure if the minion would regen toughness in between.
The code at the bottom of Niv-Mizzet is actually his name. The first part is Z-> rotated 90 degrees (hence NIV), the second part is similarly rotated 90 degrees for MIZE, and then the extra t is on the end. The =1 is just there to make it look more like maths.
+Ben Rowe For a sanctioned tournament, markings on the back of cards can be used to indicate specific things(cheat), so using unsleeved cards tends to be frowned upon. Plain flat colors, cant be glossy (again, scratches can denote specific cards) is also banned.
