Very useful tutorial, giving great hint about the position usage. Please correect me if im wrong but, there is no point giving relative attibute to the DIV that has no other DIVs inside of it, right? Therefore a relative attribute is only useful for the divs that acts as a containers.

+Věnceslav Černý Correct. Relative positioning alone won't do much

Okay but I have a question. While red box is inside container and with position:absolute it overlaps to the rest boxes. That's what position:absolute is doing right? How can we separate red box from others and still managing position of it inside container?

Use the float property instead of absolute positioning: http://css-tricks.com/all-about-floats/

Thanks for the feedback Andy and I'm happy to hear you're getting a handle on CSS position! It's definitely not an intuitive concept but once you really get it, you'll be a making CSS layouts in your sleep! lol

I watched several videos on this subject. But this is the one that really made sense to me. I can cope with adding colors and text styles to documents, but positioning the DIVs was something that was somewhat of a pain. This video has not rallied my thinking in the right track. Keep it up!!!!
