Great video, but then I say that about all your videos. Is that a baritone clarinet in the background? I loved the song Hurdy Gurdy Man, I had no clue what they were talking about I just liked how it sounded. My issue with a lot of the folk music from UK was the vaudeville type vibe they had i.e. Winchester Cathedral. I like some of the songs but I did not relate to most of it. Happy 50th anniversary of record collecting, you need to celebrate by buying some more stuff. Good to see you Michael. Steve
Funny how everyone looks around the room. That's why I change my albums in the back ground every week , it give people something to look at besides me lol.

Thanks, Steve! I had been practicing my bass clarinet before making this video. I was actually planning to spend the afternoon practicing the saxophone, but as soon as I tried to put the mouthpiece on, the neck cork fell apart! I just got back from dropping it off at the repair shop...

Hi Michael. Excellent album - love early Donovan, but they are extremely difficult to find here (or at least they are for me) - only ever see compilations out in the wild. Have a great Easter weekend. Pete

Thanks Pete! Yes, it's unfortunate that so much of Donovan's best material didn't get released properly in his home country.

Interesting concept. I started my lp collection in 1965--Beatles '65.

That's a good start! Thanks for watching.

Well now happy Easter Michael, I truly enjoy your videos and yes yes more profiles please....I’m not full yet yuk yuk oh brother🙄😬... I never own Donovan albums mainly 45s....but I truly loved Hardy Grudy man, that was trippy and different than I had heard from him oh yea I need to stop typing your telling about it shhhhhh 🤫 ...... I’ve seen this and some others at the Antique Mall I visit do you have a suggestion for purchase? This one maybe.......wow the info here is great 👏🏻✊🏻. yeah the hippie thing is odd heard the same from Zappa and Ian Anderson of Tull ha! Ian said they were dirty! Heeheeehee your original albums look a lot better than mine 😑 I need to check, when I was 12 or 13 and I started drawing and for some reason I decide to draw on my Beatles covers oh man 😡😮 the albums sound ok but the covers wow....have a nice week ahead– Lis

Hi Lis! Thanks, I will do more like this. This album and Sunshine Superman would be my top recommendations for Donovan; Sunshine Superman is perhaps his most solid album overall. Mellow Yellow is really good, too. Wear Your Love Like Heaven and Barabajagal both have some classic songs on them but also some weaker material. Your old drawn-on Beatles albums--well, they are artifacts, aren't they! Happy Easter...have a chocolate bunny on me!

Hope this Easter Sunday finds you well Michael. I really enjoyed this video, a very eloquent, informative and loving profile of something that has been a part of your life for half a century, great to see that you have cherished it all this time. I don't know this album nor did I know about Donovan's albums being released differently in the US and UK. I really hope you do more album profiles like this: your video on Lizard is still probably the best single upload I have seen in the VC. Thank you

Many thanks, Rob. I will be doing more like this. Happy Easter!
