This Tie-Dye video shows how I tie a Peace Sign design on a tee shirt.
I have lots of how to videos to watch about how to do tie-dye, some tips and tricks on tie-dye and some reveal videos where I open a tie-dye after rinsing it so be sure to take a look around.
I am still learning how to fully use YouTube, so I will be making changes as I learn, Thank you for your patience.
Also you may see some other videos from my life of magic and wonder, but I will try to keep non tie-dye videos to a minimum,

One more note, I am learning about Live Video Streaming on YouTube so I hope to start doing those soon and at some point I will set a day of the week for a regular live video stream where you can ask me questions while I work. #MrTieDye #HowToTieDye
Hi, I just recently started watching your videos because I am in love with learning new ways to tie dye. I just want to say I look up to you and will become just as good as you are :) i appreciate your videos and teaching me even though you don't know me. You're awesome dude 🤘🏼👁️
Mr tiedye I so much appreciate this videos of your it really help me on my school project and am sure by the time am through with the project am going to come out in flying colors once again thank you for sharing your tiedye idea with us
I watched part 1 and 2 but now I can’t find number 3 where you reveal the shirt! Am i missing something?? I really want to try this, but I want to see the final result that I’m aiming to achieve...please!
here is a link to the all in one video ...... https://youtu.be/FeP9fOu6NOU .... when I first started doing videos I could not upload anything over 10 minutes so I was doing the 2 or 3 part videos.... but now I am trying to get them all put together with the tying, dyeing and results all in one video and re organize my channel... thank you for your patience.
Hi!! I looove your work!! I've got two questions I hope you can help me with. 1. How do you thicken your Dye? Like video above your black. 2. How to keep the colors vibrant? Instructions with Dye say wash in hot water. Well afterwards color is pale. Grrrr Thanks so much. Keep the video coming!!
here is a video on how I make the thick black dye for the outlining ..... https://youtu.be/imaTXWdNJTo ..... as for keeping your color bright, there are many factors ..... are you using procion dyes? mixing them strong enough? mixing soda ash one cup to one gallon? letting the items set up for 24-48 hours after you dye them and keeping them damp by either putting in a bag or container with a lid, or covering with plastic? is your batch temp at least 70 degrees F? ..... these are some of the things that determine how much of your color stays
I am not familiar with those kinds of dyes .... so you can follow my tying and folding videos, but when it come to the dye and mixing, batching and washing ... I would follow the instructions and maybe do a web search for the dye and see what other info you can find for simplicol dyes .... sorry I cannot be of more help for this
soda ash is part of the process for Procion dyes, it is what causes the dye to bond with the cotton fibers ... so there is no vinegar required ..... what is the name of the dyes you are using?? and no worries about reply.... I do not always get in here to answer right away
MrTieDye sorry for the late reply.
I never tried soda ash yet ^^ and I don't know if these are procion colours... o.O it's a powder that you mix with (warm) water.
Hm I put them in the sun so they'll dry faster. Guess I put it in a bag the next time.
Do you put thr shirts in vinegar/water or so after you washed them out?
Thank you so much!
yes, I soak in soda ash for 20 minutes and then spin out the excess in my washer which leaves them just slightly damp, great for folding as the folds tend to hold themselves in place a bit ...... and then great for dyeing slightly damp also ...... as for keeping more of the colors in the tee..... are you using procion dyes? mixing them strong enough? mixing soda ash one cup to one gallon? letting the items set up for 24-48 hours after you dye them and keeping them damp by either putting in a bag or container with a lid, or covering with plastic? is your batch temp at least 70 degrees F? ..... these are some of the things that determine how much of your color stays
he is a stitched design and I do plan do do a couple videos with the more complicated designs, but to start with you can check out my intro to stitching video to get the techniques down .... https://youtu.be/fIopj6TZkes
yes that is something I have just started doing after getting many requests... and I plan to go back and put some of the 2 part videos together into one video with the results at the end ..... i was worried that they would be too long, but many people want them so I will do it that way ... thanks for watching
Lol well I didn't on the 2 I've done the last one i just did was freaking awesome!!!! Thank you so so very much for your videos!!! I'm actually doing a few to sell now!!! Your steps are thorough and easy!!! ❤❤
