Jami Ray Vintage thank you so much 😊

Went back and watched it lol. The first 3 colors are DIY paint, Old School, Apothecary, and mint chip I then used Sweet pickins milk paint in Lantern and pantry door. If you want to recreate the look, sample sizes would be enough to paint a piece of furniture this size and all the colors can be found on my website. https://jamirayvintage.com Hope that helps!

I honestly can’t remember. I think it’s DIY paint in old school and apothecary. And I used sweet pickins milk paint over the top. I know I mentioned all the exact colors in the video lol. I’d have to rewatch it.

Just curious would homemade chalk paint work for this and/or the drippy things you have done?
Jami Ray Vintage (11 months ago)
Can't hurt to try. I've only tried it with the brands I carry so I can only speak to those. I've achieved the best results on a finish like this with DIY paint.

Jami Ray Vintage what about other chalk paint brands? I am ordering some diy paint but currently I have just chalk paint from hobby lobby and I was hoping I could give it a try, it looks amazing
Jami Ray Vintage (11 months ago)
I have no idea. I tried making my own chalk paint a few years back and didn’t like the results so I’m not much help when it comes to making/using it.

I have been watching all your videos and have learned so much. I too use Polycrylic when I have paints my furniture in the past but always with Latex. I want to try Milk paint though. Would you recommend sticking with Polycrylic? Can I use clear DIY wax with Milk paint?
The Latina Next Door (1 year ago)
Jami Ray Vintage thanks so much for being so quick to respond! I have a little project coming up and I want to try something new. If I don’t need a whole quart but may need more than just one sample, I can always buy 2 correct?
Jami Ray Vintage (1 year ago)
You can use the Diy wax on all my paints. Just depends on the finish that you want. Poly has a sheen, wax is more matte and soft. Big top is also awesome.

I'm wondering what you mean when you say that the milk paint chips, that it is "chippy"? Also, do you paint the inside of cupboard doors and the sides and insides of drawers?
Judi Leavenworth (1 year ago)
Thank you!
Jami Ray Vintage (1 year ago)
Judi Leavenworth you can but you have to add crackle to the diy or fairy chalk mother paint. You can find the sweet pickins crackle that works with any paint medium on my website at www.jamirayvintage.com

One more question -thanks for your patience! Can you get that same look with the DIY paint or only milk paint?
Jami Ray Vintage (1 year ago)
It can look crackly in places
Judi Leavenworth (1 year ago)
Thanks for the quick reply! Is chippy like a crackle finish?

You are so talented. You are like a great cook that never uses a recipe. They throw a little of this and a little of that in a pot and end up with something amazing.
