"Fame may come truly come at a dear price -- a shorter lifespan.
Researchers have found that people in performance-related careers who became famous died earlier than those who became famous in other career fields."*
Does fame...kill? According to a recent study, actors, singers, musicians, dancers, and athletes all have shorter lifespans than non-famous people. What are the common factors? Cenk Uygur and Gina Grad (Pretty Good Podcast) discuss.

No, I'm saying how you handle stress and genetics are the most important factor. That was just an example that I used to support the argument. You can live as healthy as you want to, but if you can't handle stress and/or you have bad genes, you aren't going to live much past 80.
So REALITY is wrong? Americas standard of science education is around 53 in the world this explains so much about this comment. Look you cant cherry pick, one example does NOT constitute proof you crazy human. Take a random sample of hundreds of thousands and THEN draw conclusions... sheez...
Some of these stars in the entertainment industry drive themselves to exhaustion in their quest for recognition and glory so i imagine it takes a tremendous toll in their later years .
You read about someone training on an intense level for 6 or so months to prepare for a role and then they burn the candle even harder when filming starts .
Sleep deprivation, drugs to keep them awake, drugs to make them sleep, there is a price to pay for ambition
Smoking doesn't kill everyone, the oldest person ever, Jeanne Calment (1875-1997) smoked from when she was 21 (1896) to 119 (1994). I think it really has to do with how you handle stress, and there can be a lot more stress when you are a celebrity.
Yes, but he is also in a way on the businessman side of the equation. Hugh is a man, and even today people are easier on men than women. Hence it is cool to be a bachelor in your eighties if you are a man like Hugh, but women get called old cat lady if they were single at 80 and owned a cat.
probably not, it was more reference to having very large arms and upper body muscles. Another element of why is because men don't normally stretch as much, which is pretty important for basic flexibility when trying to built muscle.
cenk is a very bright and educated man but like us all is prone to wild accusations and assumtptions. no most of our athletes arent juicing. football players yes but not steriods thats old school they use hgh now. but other sports steriods doest really help much other than base ball wrestling etc
I remember one Vsauce episode where they presented studies that indicate that people who often leave their house have shorter lives on average. In other words, going outside and doing stuff puts you at a higher risk than staying at home, statistically speaking.
i wouldn't say all fighters we see on tv is on steroids.. When you work out a lot and have a very high animal protein diet, you produce more testosterone (very similar to anabolic steroids) and it produces very similar effects such as more acne due to higher oil production in the skin. Also, that in combination with being less thorough when cleansing. When your upper body is ridiculously big, it's very difficult to reach your back.
Famous buffoons die younger. It you like isn't centered around being a buffoon as a living then you're alright that an the fact that no one ever calls out celebs. their obsessive fans always jump to their defense and after they die we have to suffer all these claims that the punk is still alive.
