8:30 ... You gouged it, it's ruined. Start over. The whole thing. I'll just keep this mangled heap of trash, and you build a second one. God. How can I even live with a hideous monstrosity like that, I'm doing you a _huuuge_ favor taking it off your hands so you don't have to stare at that Grand Canyon of a gouge every day! ;] So gimme it... please? Please gimme that -sexy- hideous, -perfect- mangled, -work of art- hunk of firewood!? Honestly, that thing is Samirai level badass! Hope your kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren enjoy it!

Hello from Tokyo Thank you for sharing the video. I loved the part for showing the table-making process as well as the "Back to Reality" section : ) Impressed with the beauty of the table and how it is made.

Absolutely a beautiful well done job.

Hey great work, can you tell me why you didn't cast the middle with a clear epoxy or is that something you didn't want, still a fantastic piece of work.
Damn... I have to work tomorrow... Love your spirit, your way around the kids, all of it. Homo Universalis! Only slightly jealous!

The untouch of the center is a great idea. Welldone man, you're awesome.
Mohammed Nagiib (1 month ago)
its piece of art, you just need to put a glass on all the table.
James Davis (1 month ago)
Beautiful table and stunning wood work. But as a functional table, not so much, especially with kids. Leaving the holes in the middle, potential for a lot of things to happen to your food and your kids.

This is a wonderful reality! Video's great - *all of them!*

That is beautiful.  Just a question why not fill the live edge with epoxy or glass cover to stop thing from falling through the table top?
good table~~~~

Great piece of art man. One you should be proud of.
Lisa Wintler-Cox (1 month ago)
So beautiful! I've seen it where they put resin in the middle but that takes away from the wood a bit. I suppose cleaning the inside part seems like it would wear after a bit, but that's offset by the ease of slipping unwanted food to the dog! :P
Frank Nakhai (1 month ago)
what was the wood? thanks. enjoyed watching and learning

beautiful table but that crack is dangerous for small children!
beautiful work, but I am not a fan of a massive gap/hole in the middle of a table. That is just a disaster waiting to happen. Wait till Thanksgiving when the table is full - things will start to fall through the abyss.
Hebat brow .. I come from Indonesia

Beautiful table, I only have one issue... please don’t use metal screws and then hide them, you know they are there and they don’t have to be there and you know that as the good carpenter you are. I enjoy to see your videos, thank you.

Beautiful indeed. How about wood movement, wont it crack off the end piece overtime? I saw this happening before...
Gary Christiansen (1 month ago)
Very nice job!!!
David Perryman (1 month ago)
A beautiful table, but that gap in the middle formed by the live edges is going to get annoying pretty quick. You could have added clear epoxy/resin (or any other color you like) into the void to maintain the aesthetic while still having a solid surface from edge to edge.

Great table, and it could be greater, if you fill the long middle gap with epoxide))
