This is going to be useful for a lot of cartoon character tutorials that I'm planning on making. (*・ω・) And it's also my first step toward learning human anatomy. (Although it's kinda far away from the actual proportions xP) I surely plan on making one or a few videos about anatomically correct hands. Well, I hope this tutorial helps you out with your cartoon character drawings~ x3 ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ If you want to help me keeping this show on running, you can check out my Patreon page! I didn't notice the "little bit" thing until you mentioned it. Now I always notice it when you say it. Selective perception at it's best.

+Mink - the Drawing Researcher It could become a trademark thing. Like Bob Rosses "Happy Little Accidents".

This is a really clever way to draw hands! I have been using the more boxy method of drawing the general outline of the hand, then shaving off the edges and adding more detail. I'll have to give this a try the next time I do a hand it seems like it could be easier! I do have a question though! I recently was thinking about this myself and I wondered what your take on it was! What are some pieces of advice you wish someone had told you when you first started drawing? Were there things you wished you had learned about sooner, or even just some things to keep your morale up as a beginner that you think would have been valuable for someone just starting out?

That's true! But I was thinking it might be a good way to capture hand gesture, even if it's not the most anatomically accurate at first ~ I knwo the body method can feel a little stiff sometimes certainly! But I look forward to those tutorials! But eee yay I'm glad it was good ~ Now let's see, from those descriptions I'd say during high school! Just basically when you started to take learning drawing more seriously and were really trying to educate and improve yourself on how to do it! Does that help and hopefully it makes sense ^^"
Thank you ^_^ That's also a good way to draw hands. Keep in mind that this tutorial is about *cartoon* hands, not about anatomically correct hands. What kind of base is best suited depends on the drawing style of the hands. For more or less realistic hands the boxy method is probably better, because I think you can be more precise with it. I will do the research for anatomically correct hands in the near future. That's a very good question, and I will certainly include in one of my next videos~! For clarification...what would be the time of "when I started drawing"? It's hard to say, because I have been drawing since I was a small child, like many people. I definitely had some phases: ★ during elementary-middle school time, when I drew lots of (crappy) comics and video game concept art ★ during high school time, when I practiced manga styled drawing a lot, pretty much the first time when I did studies on my own. ★ Beginning of 2015, when I started making a drawing for almost every weekday (held it up until the next phase) ★ Summer of 2015, when I decided to stop studying physics and become a professional artist ★ Beginning of 2016, when I started my tutorial show So which one would be the closest to your question?
